Day 11: Sapa
Today Hannah and I ventured off on our own without a tour and it's been incredible. Sapa is uncaptureable in beauty and enormity. We were humbled and awed by the mountains and rice terraces. Our guides through narrow, steep, precarious, and muddy tracks were three local tribeswomen - one with a baby strapped to her back - and a seven year old girl who was easily more sure-footed than us. We eventually made our way to the village where our homestay is, nestled in the hillside, swam in the river, and spent the night sharing a meal cooked by all.
