As a previous employee in a small business turned corporate entity, you are a vital key to the success in the early stages of these organizations. You adopt the values and mission statement that the company was founded on and you are willing to put in as much extra effort and time needed to make sure the organization is successful. During these times, bonds, friendships, and future promises are made. All of the collective effort, creativity, and time focused in one direction quickly unfolds the mission of the company- growth. -
Unfortunately as some businesses grow. they tend to lose the small town business feel and the values they were founded upon. The woven bonds made through the early years begin to unravel, customer’s names turn into card numbers, handshakes turn into email blasts, and employees are used to be discarded. -
Times have changed. Businesses appear and disappear at a fast pace. Organizations preoccupied with short-term, bottom line thinking often view their employees as little more than resources to be hired, fired, and manipulated as the need arises. Workers are naturally less happy on the job when they sense little or no loyalty from their employer. -
If you are an employee, reflect on what YOU want and where YOU are going. Is your employer open to new ideas and feedback, do they understand work life balance, do they view you and everyone as one team, do they recognize your accomplishments, and give you the opportunity for future growth?
If you are the employer, one of the keys to employee satisfaction is to LISTEN and RESPOND to employee feedback. Small perks in a establishment go a long way: flexibility, employee support and development, incentives for accomplishments, and most of all a simple THANK YOU. -
Life is short... YOUR time on this earth is precious.. make sure YOU are spending YOUR time in the right place.
This image of Ali & Gareth @alicatbaur24 simply being together makes me so happy! I capture images like this for all my couples and oftentimes at their weddings you will find me crying tears of joy while they exchange vows. In the end, we all want to have that person who will love and value us for who we are. Today, I will admit is a really difficult, sad day as a vision and a dream with someone is gone. There is no amount of anything we can do to change someone and knowing the reasons why something didn't work out for us only happens with time. Watching all my brides and grooms declare their love for each other really inspires me 😊 Just know that an encouraging word can go a long way in lifting someone up...for anyone out there trying to understand why a situation didn't work out whether it's a relationship, a job, etc. don't be discouraged! Better days are ahead!
There's a difference between being liked and being valued. Choose the person that values everything about you, that is what matters, be valued. My husband..definition of showing me value in so many meaningful and intentional actions, words, and gifts. Thanks for continually ,through your love for me, showing how much you value me, especially when I can't see those values in myself. Don't settle people, we all deserve to be valued, and also do the same in return, show people that they are valued as well! Thanks for the flowers babe!
