Happy FRIYAYYY 🙌🏼🙌🏼 thank goodness for the weekend!!! This weeks been so hectic I just want to sleep all day 😴 Anyone in love with ALMONDS?! I’m obsessed with them- they make such a great snack, and essential for making your own almond butter or milk! I buy bulk, raw Kirkland almonds from @costco and toast them in the oven at 375 for ~10mins. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge and theyre good for weeeeeks. I like to have these as a pre-workout or afternoon snack at work (I keep a stash of these in my work desk drawer-it keeps me from buying unhealthy packaged snacks at the vending machine, protip 😉) Almonds are an excellent source of fiber, protein and healthy fats- so incorporate them in your diet!!!! .

As promised, #whole30 paleo butternut squash risotto!!! I’m gonna level w you guys, I totally was inspired by the recipe on the back of the @aidellssausage chicken apple sausage, I just HEAVILY (read, almost entirely lol) modified it to be paleo. Here’s what I did:
- roasted a butternut squash (brushed w olive oil, cut side down) at 400 for 45ish min, set aside and let cool while ya do the rest
- sauté a leek (white and light green parts only) in 2ish tbsp @caoliveranch extra virgin olive oil for a min
- chop up just a lot of garlic cloves (I used 5 bc I’m in a committed relationship w garlic) and all 4 chicken sausage links in the package, add to the leeks and stir. let it sauté until sausages brown a lil (about 3 min)
- add 1 package @traderjoes cauli rice and stir to coat, let hang for a min or 2
- add 1 carton @kettleandfire chicken and mushroom bone broth and let simmer until cauli rice tastes done (eh depends, I ended up at like 7 min?)
- add half your cooled butternut squash (make sure to mash or purée before, I forgot lol. big mistake) and stir to combine it all
- optional add ins: 2 servings @vitalproteins collagen peptides, 1 tbsp turmeric & 1/4 tsp black pepper, nutritional yeast
- top w fresh thyme and plate w some arugula and an avo and you are SOLID my friends!!!

I have written before about the outstanding health benefits of turmeric and most recently, carrots! Curry is an excellent way to get in a lot of turmeric at once. This curry was BOMB and I will probably be making it every week now on my candida cleanse. Why did it take me 20 days to realize curry is the most amazing high fat low carb candida friendly dish on the planet?! Well, my planet that is, who else is team curry? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Here is ze recipe, if you do not eat meat, omit the chicken.

Instant Pot Loaded Veggie Curry
Servings: 4
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, diced
6 celery stalks, diced
1 leek, diced
3 baby bok choy, quartered
1 bunch green onion (save 1/2 for garnish)
3 cloves garlic, grated
1” peice of ginger, grated
1lb chicken breast or thighs
1 can full fat coconut milk
Juice of 1 lime
3 tbsp curry powder
1 tbsp celtic sea salt
1 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp black pepper

Directions: Add all ingredients to instant pot and stir. Set to Manual - High Pressure - 5 minutes. Let steam release. Shred chicken. Serve and garnish with remaining green onion. Eat!!

Here I’m sharing with you this easy-peasy homemade hummus I made over the weekend 😋(Who is OBSESSED with hummus like I am?! 🙋🏻‍♀️) Literally all you need is 3 ingredients: cooked chickpeas, tahini and olive oil (you can even omit tahini- it still tastes heavenly without) I dont ever measure at all, but I’d say proportions should be 4:1:1 respectively. Add salt, garlic powder, paprika and cumin to taste then puree errythang together. Never buy store-bought hummus again!! This easy recipe is so so healthy, free from preservatives and can last a week in the fridge.

I want to chat about diets. In my stories I went on a full DIET RANT (I saved it so you can watch) but the gist is this: I can’t tell you what to eat to lose weight. Finding out what works for your body and lifestyle is the main goal and every diet plan will fail if you don’t find that. Any plan out there (Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Beachbody, etc.) are setting you up to fail because they are designed to make money, not for you to permanently lose the weight. Yes, people have been successful on these diets but for the other 80% of us, they are designed to make you feel like you are failing or not trying hard enough when in reality, the diet might just not work for your body. Instead of looking for a secret (THERE IS NO SECRET) focus on learning about nutrition and finding what makes you feel good. Don’t pay money to feel like a failure! I know there’s a lot of information out there but taking the time to sort through it and learning about how your body reacts to foods will set you up for a lifetime of healthy habits 😁

This is a modernized vers of mum’s kimchi jjigae- with spinach, squash, sprouted tofu, tamari and lots of sesame. Also hey leftover heated up lamb is just as good as the first day! Praise be to my @lodgecastiron skillet. Slapped it (lol what is my word choice today) on a bed of lettuce w a few cremini shrooms, spiralized yellow squash and lil cinnamon roasted butternut squash chunks. Happy day 17 of #whole30!! Variety is the spice of life!! Ps fresh rosemary is a JOY to behold so I highly recommend trying that out alright bye love u guys!!!! #clairescreations 🌱💚

I AM SERIOUSLY GON CRY FAM. 90kilos today and this is a PR 🙈There was a time i couldn't even squat 5 kilos. I had severe asthma and damn i was upset with myself. And here i am setting a new pr of 90 kilos. Times have changed. Seriously tearing up right now. Sometimes Im angry at God for not helpin me out but in reality he is making me stronger so i can take care of bigger business. What does squatting have to do with real life ??? Apply the same principles of dedication, discipline and focus in and out of gym. Have a good sunday folks.  @wondermama_

A good way to know your doing deadlifts correctly: the bar will go all the way up your shin, knees and thighs. YOU WILL BE BRUISED !!! This happens because the bar is placed MID FOOT so when traveling up your shin it literally scraps and leaves bruises. If your bar is even an inch forward theb there is more load on your back which compromises your strength and off course your deadlift is not your best pull.

So how to keep bar mid foot? Stand flat feet...forget ya shoes if ya need. Bar will be against your shin ---like touching. Sit back which will put your back upright. This helps you push with your legs and you come up.

The deadlift is a compound exercise. Practice makes perfect.

When you’re jet-lagged and coming down with a cold and it’s snowing outside, you make soup. Luckily there was some homemade chicken bone broth and roasted butternut squash in the freezer (I like to always have on hand for emergencies 🤧) so all I had to do was sauté some onion, carrots, thyme, sweet potato, and apple in lots of @fourthandheart ghee until soft then add broth and squash, heat, and blend. No recipe needed!👌😋

GO REALLY FREAKIN SLOW & FOCUS ON THE BURN ! I explain how to do this in my Leg Day highlights.

I am standing wide (sumo deadlift) position. Did high reps with a big weight on the cable for 5 sets.

I was stuck in traffic drooling while thinking about making this for dinner. Here I have my spin on the crispy rice burger. Shape a cup of soft brown rice into a bun using cling wrap(or use the bottom of an @ikeausa bowl like I did 😉#entrepreneurial ) Grill 2 rice buns on a pan with some light olive oil for 3-4 minutes on both sides or until golden brown. Add in some tomato slices, lettuce, homemade hummus and that big drizzle of sriracha for a savory and nutritious meal. This was so freaking easy to make I couldn’t believe it!! Feel free to add whatever toppings you’d like to make it YOUR burger- have fun with it and enjoyyyy! 
Food is FUEL 💪🏼 so give your body the fresh, wholesome foods it needs to perform at its best. You only get one body so why not take care of it? .

Our body has to last us in it's optimal best right ? Wrist wraps protect the wrist when you are reping your heavy best. Today was 3 reps of 40 kilos for me.

My girls, chest day os crucial for your muscle balance. Meaning if you have heavy back days then you must follow up with muscle training in the front of your body -- chest and shoulders.

So add in intense training 3 to 5 times a week. Follow through with proper food and smart supplements. And reach your goal by spring / summer.
