I made @rachlmansfield paleo pumpkin bread because I’m not quite done with pumpkin yet. I modified this recipe since it called for collagen and I’m vegetarian. Instead I used banana flour which is a low carb grain free flour that can be substituted for just about any flour. The pecan crumble on top is 👌 and the bread isn’t overly sweet which is a nice change from the treats I normally make. -

Banana flour is a great option for anyone who is following a paleo diet, diabetic, vegetarian, has a nut allergy, or is celiac/gluten free. It’s derived from green bananas, is low in sugar, and is a resistant starch (aka a type of prebiotic). Basically resistant starch resists digestion which is why there is a minimal spike in blood sugar after consumption. It also helps to feed the good gut bacteria and produce short chain fatty acids!

➡️Couldn't / Shouldn't ⬅️Those two words were very hard for me to distinguish when I was pregnant. I COULD still do everything in my workouts. I was strong enough and had the endurance to do it all.....but I quickly learned that although I could, didn't mean I SHOULD!! I wanted to stay strong, steer clear of abdominal separation and prepare for my postpartum body DURING my pregnancy. 🙌🏻 So instead of scaling back, I just trained differently! You CAN and SHOULD still work your core while pregnant! High/ low planks turned into side plank series. Crunches turned into hip lifts/ birddogs/ wall sits and belly breathing... oh so much belly breathing!! ❤ Listen to YOUR body, stay active to help with your energy levels/ swelling and do things that SERVE your pregnant body!! You've got this mama, never stop improving and fighting to feel GOOD!! At LBS, we’re pre/ postnatal certified and modify ALL moves to serve YOUR pregnant/ postpartum body! Come on in and feel the Lean Body BURN!

The easiest and coziest fall treat that I’ve ever made was this apple “crumble”. There is loads of healthy fats in here which will help to ensure you are satisfied. The fats also help to slow the release of sugar into your blood stream so you don’t have a sugar high followed by crash. To make this I sliced 3 apples and microwaved them with a bit of cinnamon and maple syrup. Then I mixed together a variety of nuts, seeds,rolled oats , and chia seeds together with a bit of coconut oil, coconut sugar and cinnamon. I sprinkled this mixture on top of the apples and baked in the oven for about 30 minutes.

Whatever, anyways I threw in basically all of the green stuff in my fridge to pack a nutrient dense punch. Handful of kale, a handful each of steamed then frozen cauli and zucchini, 1/2 an avocado for creaminess and healthy fats, @malkorganics unsweetened cashew milk and @rootznutrition chocolate banana nut protein powder. Topped with the best @wholeme lemon berry chia grain free granola, coconut shreds and strips, chia seeds, mulberries, pepitas and pistachios.

First take on my #smoothiebowl - banana, strawbies, spinach & 🥑 cause how can I not have my fav ing in it right? Used Greek yogurt instead of milk/soy/coconut water as I prefer a thicker consistency to “scoop” rather than drink. Definitely making more variations after this one 💯

the last few weeks have been pretty intense, each day i learn something new. i learn how to manage certain situations, how to keep anxious thoughts from creeping in, how much my daily morning workouts have helped with my mood, keeping me in a better place. managing my bipolar disorder in a more holistic way, natural non medicated way, can have its challenges. the beautiful part of it all, is how connected i’ve become, the interesting bond between mind and body. the important role that food plays in my every day life, how sugar can make me feel irritable, and bring anxiety into my life. how keeping my gut healthy keeps me mood up, my sleep in a better place and so much more. i’ve been feeling so much better, and honestly want to thank you all for being a part of this journey, for the unconditional support you offer me, for your beautiful comments and so much more. i share this with you all to bring more awareness to mental health and food. #followourpassionstyle #mentalhealth #bipolardisorder
