I started off this week ready a few different books. I got about 20 pages into two different books, The Remedy by Suzanne Young (which I think I may need a break from that series since I binged The Program and The Treatment) and Why I let my Hair Grow Out by Maryrose Woods. I like both, but for some reason, my heart kept saying you need some Maas in your life right now. So I decided what the hell, Tower of Dawn it is! #bookstagram#towerofdawn#sarahjmaas#booknerd#reader#bibliophile
Here's a cool take on the classic ABC book. I was asked to review "Now I Know My Avocados" by Stephanie Wykoff @nowiknowmyavocados and enjoyed getting a close look at her darling scenes based around each letter of the alphabet. I think this book will appeal to those who love the minimal aesthetic and gender neutral nurseries. The unique color palette is perfectly chosen for that style! I had fun imagining how all of the little objects and animals in each scene might relate to each other- "what has brought us here together today?" Thanks for a fun read, Stephanie! 🥑 #bookshelvesmatter#bookstgram#kidbookstagram#kidlit#raisingreaders#bibliophile#bookreview#kidsbookreview#kidsbookreviewer
Have you ever seen the movie Green Card? It's an oldie, but a goodie, with Andie MacDowell and Gérard Depardieu.. And this book from December's @thebookishbox kinda reminds me of it! It sounds cute, I'm glad I was able to get it!
Roomies, by @christinalauren:
Marriages of convenience are so…inconvenient.
Rescued by Calvin McLoughlin from a would-be subway attacker, Holland Bakker pays the brilliant musician back by pulling some of her errand-girl strings and getting him an audition with a big-time musical director. When the tryout goes better than even Holland could have imagined, Calvin is set for a great entry into Broadway—until he admits his student visa has expired and he’s in the country illegally.
Holland impulsively offers to wed the Irishman to keep him in New York, her growing infatuation a secret only to him. As their relationship evolves from awkward roommates to besotted lovers, Calvin becomes the darling of Broadway. In the middle of the theatrics and the acting-not-acting, what will it take for Holland and Calvin to realise that they both stopped pretending a long time ago?

“He was different from what she expected. Rich but not showy about it. Goofy and easygoing, but with a backbone. Utterly sure of himself in a really comfortable way. There was something about people who were that secure; they made you feel better about yourself, like they accepted you for everything you were, imperfections and all.”
― Sandhya Menon, When Dimple Met Rishi
This book was ALL OVER bookstagram last summer, but I just never got around to reading it, so I decided to make it my first read of 2018. When Dimple Met Rishi is adorable, light, funny, and cheesy romantic in the best way possible. 4/5❤️s! Think summertime love... at coding camp in San Fran... with a little Bollywood dancing thrown in for good measure. 😉 So excited to pick up From Twinkle, with Love, Menon’s next book that comes out in May!
What popular book from 2017 do you want to make sure to read this year? Also on that list for me is The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue!

@kidlitexchange #partner Thank you to #kidlitexchange for the review copy of this book. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟The Love Letters of Abelard and Lily by Laura Creedle. Lily is a teenage girl who struggles with dyslexia and ADHD. She refuses to take her medication hides it from her mom, walks out of class, doesn't do her homework, and has real trouble keeping up with time. After an incident that ended her up in the principal's office she realizes she has a crush. A crush on Abelard. Abelard is a teenage boy and struggles with some sort of autistic spectrum disorder but a diagnosis is never actually given in the story. And just as Abelard and Lily' s relationship is blossoming Abelard gets accepted to an awesome school in New Mexico and suddenly Lily must deal with more pressure than she's ever imagined. From failing classes, to medication, her best friend's new boyfriend and she's found the fantasies of her father are all lies she's told herself. On top of that brain surgery. The determination of family and friends and even strangers in this book will renew your faith in society. There are good people trying to do good things for people they love. Even if at first it doesn't seem that way. Review also posted on Library Thing, Goodreads/StacieBoren, Go Read, Amazon, and my blog at readsbystacie.com
Baby’s breath and Harry Potter -
I was given these flowers and some others and I had to take some photos with them before they died -
They’re beautiful and the other ones are yellow 💛
I’m reading stalking Jack the Ripper and I love it once I actually read but I don’t have much motivation to read at the moment, it’s a bit of a problem

QOTD : Legend or The Young Elites?
Well, beda banget sama trilogy legend.

Daisy Ridley (Rey, Star Wars) as Viola & Tom Holland (Peter, Spiderman) as Todd. Terus ditambah Nick Jonas as Davy. Yayy!
Semoga filmnya nanti bagus, sesuai bukunya. Tapi masih rilis 2019 😪😪

#janbooktag - I better get this done while it's still January right?
Leftover Chocolate (a book you're sick of seeing): Grishaverse - because - I'm about to start in on them and every time I see it in my feed I remember I'm not knowing or seriously in the fangirl side of things.
Feeling poor (a book you spent too much money on): Ok, since working for an anime store, I never paid retail for a manga book. So when I had to special order a discontinued book to complete a series - spending $20 on manga felt dirty yo.
Chocolate Orange (a book you didn't expect to like but did): LOTR. Seriously I rage quit the book 5 times before powering through Tom Bombadil. And now its my main fandom.
Shortbread (an old favorite): Old as in when ot was written? Macbeth. Or old as in one ofy early reads? Then Heir to the Empire Star Wars books.
New Year, New Me (genre you plan to read more of): Fantasy. For always.
Gift (a book you received): Outlander series from my husband, & Always and Forever Lara Jean from @roaming.reader
Taking Down the Decorations (a book with a minimalist cover): uhhhh, the Anita Blake series from like Hit List, Bullet, & Flirt are pretty pared down.
Scrapping the Junk Food (a book you'd get rid of): None. Nope. Never. All Mine! Even the bad ones.
Leftover Wrapping Paper (a story that was wrapped up perfectly): The Hollows / Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison.
So Many Mince Pies (a guilty pleasure read): Zen and the Art of Vampires & Crouching Vampire Hidden Fang by Katie MacAlister.

QOTD: do you read anything other than YA? Adult? Middlegrade?
I read primarily YA but occasionally I’ll read a couple middlegrades if I’m interested. The only adult books I’ve read are VE Schwab’s books but I do own some adult books that I’m looking forward to reading!
In fact, I’m actually reading Whichwood right now, which is a middlegrade! I’m about halfway through so I’m hoping to finish it this weekend!
"The artist is the creator of beautiful things.
Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only beauty.
No artist is ever morbid. The artist can express everything. Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art."
― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Preface
Hi! Hi! Today I want to share with you two paintings from my favorite artist. Those are: "Crucifixion of Saint Peter" and "David and Goliath" from Caravaggio.
Tell me about your favorite artist in the comments🙂
Have a lovely day! 😘

Q: what place in any book feels most like home to you?
#lbctolkien - Day 18: the Shire (comforts of home) - It’s the last day of this amazing challenge from @love.books.and.coffee (actually the last day was yesterday and I’m a day behind lol). But of course for today, I chose Hogwarts. There’s no place like Hogwarts, and it definitely feels the most like home to me out of any bookish places that I have visited while reading! And this is a beautiful illustration from my Art of Harry Potter book!!! And check out the amazing @burningbrightlibrary to get your own Hogwarts Express candle!! It’s one of my favorite candles that I own! If you use BOOKISH10, you’ll get 10% off!
@invisible.in.ink tagged me to do the #harrypottercharacterstag (which was actually created by the amazing @littlbookworm )
•Harry Potter (a character you love in every way): Will Herondale. If you didn’t know this, he’s my ultimate book boyfriend. since I use him a lot though, I’m also going to mention Cath and Levi from Fangirl on this one!!
•Ron Weasley (a character that makes you laugh): can I say all of Cassandra Clare’s characters. especially the Herondales (those boys have my heart) and Simon Lewis!!
•Hermione Granger (a wise character): Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. She loves reading and she knows that life isn’t about your appearance or your wealth or who you marry!! She’s one of my favorite literary heroines!!!!
•Draco Malfoy (a character you didn’t like at first but later changed your mind about): Alina Starkov from the Grisha trilogy. she really annoyed me at first, but then I grew to really like her and appreciate her character :)
•Voldemort (a character you hate): Queen Maeve. from Throne of Glass. ESPECIALLY after reading Tower of Dawn. I HATE HER WITH ALL OF MY BEING OMG. •
Also, I just wanted to put it out there that I got a linktr.ee!!! check out all my links on the linktr.ee link in my bio!!
What the freaking freak! When I read a book, the worst ending I don't want to read is found in this book. Well not in the bad way, when I mean worst, is the thing that will hurt you and break your heart.
This book played me well and Im crying.
This is the last book in the Siren Suicides Trilogy. The last book where Ailen Bright fights for her life in a world full of problems, as she runs away from the sirens and her father, with her friend Hunter by her side.
I expected a better ending. I love the series and goodness, the ending is not what I expected! It's way MORE than I expected and it was heartbreaking at the same time but I love it.
I was reading it first and was doing fine. I experienced the best girl fight that I read and as soon as I reach the end, goodness! I was screaming because I didn't expect it. I have to flip back the pages, looking for reasons why.
This is so intense and dark and I can't believe that it made me cry.
I would love to thank the author for making this series. It told me that we must love our life. No matter what are your experiences, there are people who will love you.
Love will turn the way around and will change your world.
If you're depressed, we are here for you. There's a suicide hotline made for you. Always remember that thee are people who cares about you.
They are there. Waiting for you.
Though I wish I could snuggle up with my current read right now, I'm currently devoting my time to my Sociology essay on Tolkien and Lewis' fantasy series by watching Return of the King.
One of my favorite reads from 2016 was Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, pictured above. If you're interested in historical fiction, I'd definitely recommend this!
I'm love HF, but I haven't read very many books from this genre; if you've read any other historical fiction books, recommend them below!
[Day 1] 📖 #ObrolinBuku#LoveofDevilPrince karya @detiyulia bersama #PeekyBookTourian 📖.
😈 Selamat pagi semua. 😈.
Crystal G. Houtsman hanyalah pelayan restoran biasa.
Lantas, seperti apa jati diri seorang Crystal Houstman sebenarnya?
