After almost 3 days of constant climbing, I crossed the Elburz mountain range!
I'm passing from the "jungle" of the iranian north into a vast desert that will not end until I get to India... So I have 2 months of dryness in front of me! OK LET'S DO IT
For quite some years, as a little kid, I delivered the local newspaper on my bicycle around the neighbourhood. Today, many years later, the same local newspaper published a story of our journeys. How cute! For the interested, you can find the link to the article (page 33) in our bio! #globebiking
For the last 6 days I've been hanging around Brevard, North Carolina. I seem to have been drawn to this place and it's incredibly friendly, happy people. I've been staying with JT, a Brevard native (on the stand-up bass in the back) and have been enveloped in a sort of musical paradise here with nearly everyone I meet having some kind of talent and a room full of instruments to pluck around on. I took this photo on my first night here, listening to JT and gang play a number of Old Time tunes in their band The Pretty Little Goats.

"Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." [Henry Van Dyke]
Personal thought: It's not whether we do or do not have a specific talent. It's how much of that talent we possess. This quote hit me a few days ago and made me realize I need to value ANY talent I have, even if it's small. I often find it hard to focus on my talents... Or even consider that word in the plural sense. I see so many skilled experts out in the world, whether professionally or in recreation, and think I have nothing more to offer because they already know everything there is to know, but if we all did that, then it would be a very linear world with no creativity, difference change or outward thinking.
Photo taken in Montana along the 450 Fitz-Barn route, where I surprised even myself with my ability to finish in under 3 days and overcome numerous mental obstacles.
