Day 21 of Inktober
Yeah I know it doesn't really show anger but if it isn't obvious enough. This depicts someone being cheated and uh apparently. Defends her about it? I actually didn't give to much thought of it other than putting it out paper quickly before forgetting
This girl asked the man out while she was already dating someone else. This breaks both the men's trust in her. However one still sticks with her, the other, in a broken hearted state. The word "trust" can often be broken.
I like the little comic touch I did there hoohoo.

It became apparent today that not many people know that all our fabrics are designed by me and about the set up of this family business so each post I will endeavour to share some of what goes on behind the scenes. So here goes! This here toucan started as a sketch on my kitchen table. A simple black and white line drawing of a bird. Several sketches later taking him from an envelope to tracing paper he was flipped to have a reflection and something to sit on as he looked strange floating but not flying. The beauty of designing specifically for the bibs is that once scanned and on the computer I can control the scale. Carefully working out how they will fill the bib shape so they are not too busy or too few when cut. I can also change the directions and work out what works on the diagonal if in rows. It's then put into repeat and the fun of colouring begins! Its a lengthy process, I trialed many a spot of varying sizes and spacing before going back to the beginning and sticking with solid colours but trial and error is part of the creative process and I'm always looking at how I might improve the print. Tweaking elements right up until they are printed but more about that later ☺️ Katy
