Rp @rasekhi_arts_temple I love to hear this elder speak. We give thanks for all the speakers and energy from last week's fundraiser for @wadada_atl #ProfessorJamesSmalls#supportblackbusiness#staywoke
As the need for healing abounds in our communities, the need for increasing black ownership has become CRITICAL, necessary and imperative to answer the call with fresh and innovative solutions. Who better suited to address the various challenges facing us today as black people than us.
In most predominantly black communities like the historic West End, which is 81.5% black, there lacks a grocery store let alone a natural foods market that is black owned to serve the growing health concerns of the community. ♡♡♡
What we need:
1) food security ie control of one of our basic necessities of FOOD, clothing & shelter
.2)a black-owned natural foods store to address the rising health issues of the black community
.3) a steady pipeline from the black farmers/growers and producers to black consumers
.4) a means to create black employment AND increase circulation of the black dollar .
@Wadada_atl Are you ready to protect your future? The time is now! Controlling our food source is the 1st step for generations to come...
Which candidate will step up and support? @ceasarformayor @keishabottoms @kwanzahall @fortforatlanta
It is my BIRTHDAY! So decided to give myself and you a gift. Around about 2014 I noticed something. I saw a lot of people wearing watches.
I mean Rolex , Patek , Breguet etc. So since then I’ve been thinking should I get one? If so when?
This is where it gets tough last year I was on holiday with my close friends and they all had nice watches. And that’s when it started they said ‘Eugene you need get a watch’. I nodded but did not take any action. I got back and bought a Black Fit Bit, to match my black Vauxhall’s Astra coupe 09 plate! I started to research watches and luxury goods.
I noticed UK consumption had increased x 10 of luxury goods. I think the Uk rap scene has contributed significantly also add the increase in consumption in Asia and Africa this trend is here to stay. Now swipe ⬅️ if you have not already done so.
So last year October 2016 I took some money and decided to take the plunge and instead of buying the watch, I bought shares into the company that makes it amongst other brands.
That company is called LVMH. It owns Hublot , Louis Vuitton, Hennessy , Givenchy, Verve etc. As you can when I bought price was 168 and today it’s at 237. That’s 70% increase. 🥂
So my gift for sharing this story is simple don’t spend your last to keep up unless you have it. When you see someone with something nice don’t follow fashion as you have no idea how they got it. Be yourself , do what makes you comfortable and happy , as a community we need become more financially literate.
I see a lot of positivity on social media I also see a lot of nonsense and too much gravity and weight given to material objects.
Our young black men are lapping it up. I mean £500 PCM on a watch just to keep up appearances😢🙈 it’s not worth it. Knowing me probably may not buy a watch coz it feels funny round my wrist and leaves tan lines or a car as I’m facing a ban for speeding lol .
I’ll compound my money earned but if you ever do see me with a nice watch or car you know how I got it.
Ps: it’s not too late invest see what happens in one year
