I haven't always been "super fit". Active, yes, but fit? Nah. I've been lazy, I've been "too tired", & I've been addicted to crappy foods. Over time I've changed & tweaked one or two things in my health; drink water & no more Kool-aid, cut back on fried foods, start reading labels, reduce sugar intake, do some sort of strength training daily, run more, stretch more, train with weights, challenge myself. Most of the changes were food-related, & made the biggest difference & gave me the most noticeable changes & improvements. I make sure to let people know I haven't always been "fit". I let people know, "Hey, I'm human & I have food cravings & weak moments, both at the gym & at the dinner table." Yes, I'm also a mother, so I've dealt with the body changes of pregnancy. & no, I'm not 20-something. I'm closer to 40! None of that matters to me when it comes to my fitness & health. It all serves to strengthen & push me. This is a lifestyle. My lifestyle. As 2017 winds down, I reflect on this past year with great joy. Acro yoga has brought me many things in my life but this year was exceptional! I hope to travel more and spread the practice of acro to everyone of all colors shapes and sizes. 2018 HERE WE COME!!!
Sometimes, you have to retreat and treat yourself. Meaning, relaxing your mind and just letting go. This weekend is a social media free weekend for me. Whether I read a book, binge watch a series on Netflix, spend time with a friend or family member, or even plan for my business (that can be fun, too), it's going to be exactly what I want to do without the distraction of watching what others are doing.
