Dashi cream egg noodles with pork belly and mushrooms.
Also added a touch of 猪油渣 (crispy pork fat) because I couldn't think of a reason not to.
The placement of those king oyster mushrooms are bugging me too btw. Damnnit Brain, why you gotta be so sensitive to symmetry?! アジア人のカーボナラです。きのこと豚の腹は良い風味を加える。海苔はそれを美しくするために使われました、でも悲しそうに緑のふけのように見える。。。
Pork belly, black fungus, Panko egg and charred ginger rice.
When I say charred I really mean burnt. Not enough stock in the rice cooker. In Malaysia we call it Chao-Da. Less sophisticated and not as intentional but taste just as 'smoky' as the burnt food you pay for in restaurants.
Black fungus stir fried in coconut oil with broccoli, onion and red peppers. Seasoned with Chinese 5 spice, soy sauce and Himalayan salt. If anyone knows the botanical name of black fungus plse lemme know ☺🖤🍄
This is what black fungus looks like before and after it's been soaked in water. When I was growing up this was used in a Congolese dish cooked with peanut butter and caterpillars. Yes! Caterpillars! They were actually real nice but that's all behind me now lol. Anyyyywaaayyy I was so surprised to be served this at @l.i.s.h.a.n house coz I thought it was just a Congolese thing. I'm just so happy to have it back in my life. In my dinner tonight I'll be stir frying the soaked black fungus with broccoli and red pepper. No caterpillars this time lol 🐛😋... the texture of this is kinda rubbery and bouncy but not chewy... . I love the stuff 😊
