🏆💕Here I am 16+ years later. The last 3.5 years have been spent in intensive treatment. It might not look like a huge difference, but these two girls are lifetimes apart. I had no idea who I was for so long, over half my life.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: This is just one representation of what someone with an eating disorder can look like. You do not have to be underweight to have an ED or to be diagnosed & receive treatment. There are so many people who don't seek help because they think they are "not sick enough". You can be any shape, size, race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. and have an ED.
I just want to talk about recovery for a min. Every single one of you deserve to have control of your life without your disorder, addiction, etc.
I didn't even know I had an ED until I went to my initial treatment assessment. I just thought that my fear of food was the way I was & I had to deal with it. I remember the clinician saying to my parents, "she's really sick" & the hot tears that streamed down my face.
She told us I needed to go into a partial hospital program. I needed a strict meal plan. A therapist, a dietician & a team of professionals to help me beat my ED.
I'm honestly crying as I write this because holy shit, I've come so far. To all of you who are afraid to be honest with yourself, with your family, friends about the way you live because you're scared to gain weight, to all of you who are afraid of what your life will be like without your ED--I have been in your shoes. I have been right there & it is terrifying. It's embarrassing, it's shaming, it's letting go of life as you know it.
Know that asking for help, being honest & opening up is a sign of strength. It's incredibly powerful & I am so proud of every single one of you who have chosen recovery.
It is hard work. I quit so many times during treatment but I never gave up.
You have to be ready to do it for you. You have to want to recover for YOU.
I still have hard days, weeks, months, but they are manageable now.

This school year has gotten super busy for me, but for one of the first times I actually don't mind. This is my third time going to college for a totally different program. The first two times I was sure that's what I wanted to do, until I actually started to do it. We're young, we're still sorting out who we are and who we're becoming. I use to stress out every single day about "what am I going to do"?, looking back on that; all the stress was for nothing.
Yeah, sometimes people do know what they want to do with their life at 18, but it's okay if you don't. I'm almost 22 years old and I switched programs twice, I went from Business to Event Planning to now Early Childhood Education. Do I have it all figured out yet? Hell no!!! Does that matter? Hell no!! I know I'm in the right field and I know that it's what I want to do, but I don't know what exactly in the field.
Take time to reflect on yourself, take a deep breath and relax. Everything will be okay, you will figure it out when you're ready to. It's not a race, it's your life and it's who you are becoming and who you will be.

The past is like using your rear-view mirror in the car. It’s good to glance back and see how far you’ve come. All though if you stare too long, you will miss what’s right in front of you.
I wore this to dinner and I'm kind of amazed, because I almost wore a baggy sweater to eat in instead. I noticed why and realized that it's okay to feel one way, but encourage myself to do something different. I've always felt less comfy being in tight clothes when eating, and fullness can be hard to sit with in those moments.
But I don't want to hide behind clothes.
I love trying to let myself feel cute and comfortable no matter WHAT I'm doing or where I am. We deserve to recognize ourselves in these moments and lovingly encourage ourselves to try something different.
So, throw on that fabulous outfit you've been wanting to wear and let yourself enjoy food and freedom at the same time💃🏻cuz we can :)

Whilst I don’t have scars to show the story of his birth I have severe abdominal separation, saggy skin and my linea nigra which has still not faded as yet. Two weeks ago I posted a similar pic of my belly at 39 weeks it was taken 48 hours before he was born and as much as I love that picture of my bump, in it’s full glory, this picture of my postpartum body has made me most proud. Just to see how fast our bodies can heal, with all the pain and sacrifices we make and still go through, we can look at ourselves and say “Wow, we really are Wonder Women. For now, I’m currently on the road to healing and processing motherhood with two babies. It’s not always easy and at times my body feels defeated but when I feel like giving up I have this to remind me of the strength I have and my little babes that show me everyday how much of a blessing life is ✨'
To have the energy and to be "in the mood" to be intimate with our partner is not something that is just there (unless you are in the first 6 months of your relationship). We need to create it, we need to feel comfortable in our own body and have a quiet mind to let go and be present.
Women worry a lot while being close to her partner about her chores at home, her cellulite on the thighs or the fat roles on her stomach. They desire to have that passionate relationship with her partner but something is just not there anymore.... I can tell you what is not there - your presence, your quiet mind, your care-free attitude. Notice your attitude towards your partner and yourself. What is your self-talk?
Next time you are having fun in bed or where ever else it takes you, know that he loves your roles - they are fluffy and nice to touch. Forget about the washing and cleaning for 30 minutes (maybe it will be even less ;-) ) and enjoy his body, his breath, his touch.
Seriously, create a special moment. Put something nice on - men are visual creatures, and take this time for each other, you are both worth it.

CREATE YOUR OWN #GOALS
Define your 5 main goals.
I usually break them down into spiritual, physical, mental, social and adventurous goals. This way you are sure to maintain a good balance. So take a pen and paper and start defining the goals you are setting. Be meticulous with the details of what you want to achieve, because the better you know the goal the easier it’ll be to create an action plan. ~
When creating a physical goal, try not to chase aesthetics. Having abs or a certain pants size IS NOT A GOAL. Instead make your goal running a certain distance, or lifting a certain weight. This way you have something to measure and you can keep pushing the bar. Changes in your appearance will simply be a by product. ~
So take some time today to make your very detailed list of 5 things you want to achieve. I don’t believe in New Years resolutions, so we might as well set them now, right?
