Always find myself craving sushi on Friday nights!! After a long week, it’s the perfect reward! Tonight we went to Izakaya by Katsuya in Northridge - this little spot is adjacent to Katsuya and make no mistake it’s a completely different restaurant! Rather than the typical sushi/cut rolls/tempura/etc. this place had open face hand rolls, uni ramen, a variety of crispy rice options, and Japanese beers. The black rose latte from @oliveandrubycafe is the 🗝 to my 💜 // This elixir is made with almond milk, rose water, activated charcoal and white chocolate // It’s perfectly sweet, subtly floral AND the activated charcoal is great for detoxing // Charcoal is super effective at removing bacteria, chemicals, dirt and impurities on the skin, as well as in your body // I mix it into smoothies and drinks for its internal benefits and I also use it as part of my regular beauty regimen to whiten my teeth and calm my skin // For a purifying face mask mix 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder (I use one from @organikahealth and it’s the bomb 👏🏼 ), 1 teaspoon bentonite clay and 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with about 1 tablespoon of water until it forms a paste. Smooth over your face and leave on for about 15 minutes before rinsing off 🙌🏼
Worst shot you have every had? Mine would probably be the Port and Starboard which we created for our Battleship menu. Mixing together Creme de Menthe and Grenadine and that is just as bad as it sounds.
Anyone else have a serious obsession with Mexican food? I’m not gonna lie, I eat a quesadilla once a week 🙊 I can’t help it.. I love cheese so much! The hubby is obsessed with al pastor tacos, so Mexican night is always a win-win in our household.

I went with my family a few weeks ago & we were not disappointed.
