Today was no so great. Today, we had to cancel Clem's birthday party because of a stomach bug which all began at 4am. 😭 (I also cleaned puke out of a car seat for the first time today. 🤢) So here's a picture of healthier and quieter times to help me forget the last 24 hours. Reading makes everything better. 📚
Thanks for the book recommendation @anidealmoment. It's safe to say that #theworstprincess is a hit! I also think it's pretty hilarious that Clem calls the princess mama. 😆 Maybe it's her messy read hair? If not, then it's definitely the cups of tea this princess is drinking on almost every page. ☕️ #longestday#readinghelps#andwine#littleclem
"Please Mia," he implores. "Don't make me write a song."
Will I ever stop posting about this duology? Nope. Probably not. I love Mia & Adam's story WAY too much. Being on vacation where I am, always reminds me of these books cause this is where I was when I first read & fell in love with them. I reread these usually once a year so it's definitely almost time. Burning the lovely Adam Wilde candle tonight (which is one of my favorites) from the talented & amazing Brittany over at @novellyyours ! 🕯- it smells like clean cotton, musk & leather. Perfect for one of my favorite book boyfriends. ♡

I am quickly devouring the work of @jenniemelamed. Gather The Daughters is fascinating and horrifying in equal measure. The story is unstoppable and I can't wait to find out what is going to happen.
Thank you @littlebrown for this!

I'm trying to catch up on a whole bunch of tags from over the past few weeks.
So here we go!
I was tagged by @firexxlily to do the #bookishspiral tag as well as the #fourthingsilove tag!
I'm really happy how my spiral came out!
And four things I love would be
1. Food (super obvious lol)
2. Painting my nails (It started out as a nervous habit but now I change nail polish ever 1-4 days depending on my schedule)
3. Cooking! (I can throw down in a kitchen 😂)
4. Lying around and doing nothing. (It's the best activity in the world!)
I was tagged by @soraiazohdi to do the #photogenicbooks tag! Six of Crows is pretty photogenic so it worked out!
Alright, that's it for now!
I'll do some more tags tomorrow.
Hopefully I'll be able to spread these posts out and not let them sort of pile up on me again 😅
Thanks to the two lovely ladies who tagged me!
As always, don't mind me or this post if you've done the tags already.
And if you just happen to come across this post, but weren't tagged, feel free to jump in and do the tag anyway!
We're all friends here! 😊
Trying to figure out how my weekend can look like this 🤔🌊🏝☀️📖|| 📷: @booksonherbrain #bita#booksintheair#inthewoods "The bestselling debut with over a million copies sold that launched Tana French, “required reading for anyone who appreciates tough, unflinching intelligence and ingenious plotting” (The New York Times), who is “the most interesting, most important crime novelist to emerge in the past 10 years” (The Washington Post)
Look out for Tana French’s newest novel, The Trespasser, available now
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.
Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a twelve-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox—his partner and closest friend—find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery. Now, with only snippets of long-buried memories to guide him, Ryan has the chance to uncover both the mystery of the case before him and that of his own shadowy past.
Richly atmospheric and stunning in its complexity, In the Woods is utterly convincing and surprising to the end.

I hope you guys are liking the new theme I'm trying out. It's just something's little different. I mean it doesn't look any different from my white theme I was doing before... but more faded and more busy looking.
Work today yay!
Have a good day guys!
Happy Hot Day! 🔥🙃 •
Okay, long story: so these flowers are on sale @weaversway 💚💙 I brought them home last night after guiding a blind woman to the co-op! She had become discombobulated by the heat index in Philly yesterday; that's how hot it is here🔥🔥🔥. And the woman was from Utah! (I dunno. I just think of Utah as being hotter. Maybe I'm wrong?) •
Meantime, I had just been chewed out moments earlier by another woman, also affected by the heat I think? I had wanted to get my nails done as a walk-in at my go-to place, and the manager was outraged by my lack of an appointment. I mean, I go there enough she's literally met my babies?? (By that I mean, I never know in advance when I'll have free time & we've discussed that even.) I could tell she was having a bad day, so I took it as an opportunity to practice a new mindset. When someone is being awful, do not take their bad trip. (To paraphrase Tom Wolfe in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.) Just smile and walk away. So anyway, that's what I did, and I ended meeting a blind woman & then, in lieu of getting a manicure, going into @shopgreenestreet, which is a place filled with some of my favorite humans in Philly & the best thrifting anywhere on this 🌎. And I knowwww I'm not supposed to be shopping, but thrifting after encountering a mean lady doesn't count! I'll share my finds, including a @albertaferretti top for $10, in my stories!! Ten dollars! •
Back to the flowers, so I bring them home and tell my toddler they're for her. "Happy Hot Day!" I tell her. "Happy Hot Day!" She shoots back, like 100% in that that's a thing 😂💙 #lifeisbeautiful
I was tagged by @sarahreadsnz and @teastainedpages01 to do the #topfivefavoriteships challenge😁
This was so hard but here goes!:
Well that escalated quickly😂 lol I'm just having fun y'all❤ What are some of the best ships? What are some of the worst?
110. THE BLOODY KNIFE | Ava landed on all fours. She was getting better at the lurch between cycles; it always felt like she was being flipped upside down by her stomach, and she almost always fell over -- but this time she was ready for it, and landed like a cat on her hands and knees. The bloody knife was still in her hands, she realized with a shock. She had the sudden urge to hide it, knowing the knight would be looming over her at any moment, knowing the knife would make her infinitely suspicious. .
. But the knight wasn’t there. No one was. In fact, even the afternoon sun was gone, replaced by a bright, starlit night. Ava’s heart felt weak as she realized -- had it really worked? She turned and looked at the castle behind her, Castello Della Rotta. The roses were gone; the brick was old and dilapidated. The arched entry was all boarded up. .
. Her eyes grew hot as tears rushed upwards and out. She choked out a sob, fell to her knees, and curled forward into the earth to cry. She had done it. She’d fixed the timepiece, after too many cycles to count. She’d killed the nanny. .
. She’d escaped. .

Synopsis for HP and the Sorcerer Stone:
Harry Potter's life is miserable. His parents are dead and he's stuck with his heartless relatives, who force him to live in a tiny closet under the stairs. But his fortune changes when he receives a letter that tells him the truth about himself: he's a wizard. A mysterious visitor rescues him from his relatives and takes him to his new home, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After a lifetime of bottling up his magical powers, Harry finally feels like a normal kid. But even within the Wizarding community, he is special. He is the boy who lived: the only person to have ever survived a killing curse inflicted by the evil Lord Voldemort, who launched a brutal takeover of the Wizarding world, only to vanish after failing to kill Harry.
Though Harry's first year at Hogwarts is the best of his life, not everything is perfect. There is a dangerous secret object hidden within the castle walls, and Harry believes it's his responsibility to prevent it from falling into evil hands. But doing so will bring him into contact with forces more terrifying than he ever could have imagined.
