Hi reading owls!
First of all, I wish you a happy new year! 2018 is going to be your year and I know this for sure!
I‘ve got to tell you something and this time it‘s really important!
I want to apologise for not really participating in the#booksindec17 challenge even if I said I would. I tried but it was all just so hard but I‘ll get to that a bit later! I just wanted to say sorry. To you but mostly to @flourish.and.books @mystical_words @tami_littlecornerformybooks @biblio_phil @captain.valour @perks_of_being_a_reader @miuniversoliterariowriter @lucthereader
Now I want to explain because I’ve got the feeling I should.
I used to love posting and taking pictures but for the past months it became a burden more than something I liked to do. I tried over and over again but I just couldn’t do it cause inspiration left me.
I’m thankful to all of the people who stayed and didn’t unfollow me, honestly you all mean so much to me!
But this time I won’t promise to take pictures BUT I do promise to be here if you want to rant about books or whatever you want to talk about even if I don’t post anything in a long time!
I even have to post some new reviews but I swear I’m not even motivated to write them! I read the books and loved those mostly but I’m so lazy lately!
Okay enough of me rambling about my problems and lack of motivation!
Tell me what you’ve done this past months ‘cause I’m just curious and missed you all so much and missed talking to you guys!

December 29: Most disappointing books of 2017
Hello there. During 2017 I've read 30 books and I have to admit not so many great ones. I didn't finish only one book and that's An Unkindness of Magicians from Kat Howard. I'm sorry. This book sounds interesting and I like the description but that's it. Honestly I didn't like the writing style and I pushed myself to read it, after 60 pages I gave up. I just couldn't continue And I really didn't care about characters, like at all. No interest from my site.
The other two books were disappointing, (two stars rating). Asylum from Madeleine Roux was boring, not scary at all, but I think for much more younger reader than me (I'm 25) that should be a good book, not perfect but solid read I hope. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff was the most disappointing book for me. I don't get that hype all around this book. It's predictable, not creepy, not scary, no action, characters were good and it was funny to read their conversations but that's all.
The next disappointment was (three stars rating) Falling kingdoms, Stalking Jack the Ripper, Truthwitch, Windwitch and Shadow and Bone. I've really enjoyed reading them but I expected more.
What's your the most disappointing books of 2017?
It’s currently 5 degrees outside and I’m not cool with it. Lol 😂
Unfortunately I have to brave the frigid tundra to go to the store, so I think I’m going to make a run to Barnes and Noble as a reward.♥️
P.S. This Puffin Classics set is just a few of several books I received for Christmas.🎄
Book challenges: Day 29
#decinbooks17 Favorite books read in 2017: A Million Junes, Illuminae, ACOWAR, Harry Potter (reread), etc..
#rebellashogwartschristmas Book with murder: Just received Murder on the Orient Express.🔪
#fanaticalbirddecember Number of books read in 2017: 41 not including rereads.
#grimdragon#fangirldecemberchallenge Favorite books of 2017: So many! Loved ACOWAR and The Rules of Magic
#rfabdecember17 Current read: Language of Thorns, Darker Shade of Magic, Little Women.
#booksindec17 Most disappointing reads of 2017: Worst for me was Rose Blood, a retelling of The Phantom of the Opera. It was slow-paced and had too many plot holes.
“We’ve reached a little tenement with green gables and ironwork fencing around the front. Fake gas lamps, and a guy dressed as a nineteenth-century police officer, guard the entrance to a black-painted door. Even if I failed to see the discreet 221B Baker Street above the door, I couldn’t miss the big honking green-and-black sign that says The Sherlock Holmes Museum.’ I read Every Word, the second book in the Every trilogy by Ellie Marney shortly after I got home from my trip to Europe two years ago. In the chapter the quote's from, when Rachel and Alicia head out for the day, I immediately knew where they were going. When they emerged from the tube station and Rachel says she saw a Pizza Express across the street, I knew I was right, because just two months before, I’d stood at that very spot with @kvan_24 and @jaikaies (debating where to eat and saying if we were going to get pizza, it should at least be Pizza Express since we don’t have those here...luckily we decided to keep walking and came across a restaurant called Bill’s, where we had one of the best meals of the whole trip) before heading to 221B Baker Street. I already loved these books, but that scene made me love them even more because it transported me right back to one of my favourite cities.
PS: Check out my beautiful new 221B Baker Street candle from @flickthewick! It and the other candle I ordered arrived last night, and you can see my unboxing in my stories now! This candle smells like tobacco and bay leaves and I seriously can’t stop sniffing it because it smells so freaking amazing. 😍 “These are a few of my favourite things” ~ Favourite character and favourite chapter in your favourite book #iamsweetDecember

Day 28 of #yaxreputation is for a character to go on an adventure with: Hercule Poirot. If you don't mind an adventure full with crimes and murders 😁, cause even at Christmas Poirot gets a case!
Day 28 of #bookishxmaslyrics is for blue book.
Day 28 of #booksindec17 is for mystery book.
Day 28 of #ampersanddec17 is for author: Agatha Christie.
Motives for Murder: A fortune in uncut diamonds, hidden by an eccentric old man - A woman's love, too freely given - A business empire built on ruthlessness. Each of them may have been a motive for the brutal slaying of wealthy old Simeon Lee. Coupled with Lee's family, each member of which hated him and wished to see him dead, they present Hercule Poirot with a baffling challenge--one which the astute detective solves only through his uncanny ability to see "the little things."
Free at last! No more guests or relatives are expected to visit us and i couldn't be happier about it. I was this close to nail my bedroom door shut and stay in there until spring.😧
On another more joyous note,i watched some amazing KDramas such as Chief Kim and Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim. They were spectacular! 😀💕
I am off to study! *whistles happily*
The one in The Dragons of Nova by Elise Kova was particularly wild...😶

December 24: Christmas Eve - christmas vibes
Two days ago I was at cinema and saw Star Wars: The last Jedi and I love it so much. The story was perfect! I fell in love with new characters completely (after first movie I was like "hmm, they're pretty good. Now they're more than pretty good.") and it was interesting to see how they've changed during two movies (especially Rey and Poe). Every minutes of film I didn't want the end. My favourite scene was when Rey came to Luke and he refused to teach her and thrown his lightsaber away. I was like "ok, that will be very interesting between them both". But honestly I adore every details and felt finally a little happy after really long time. And BB-8 is such a hero. And I have to say that Carrie Fisher (general Leia) was amazing (during some moments I wanted to cry). I am happy that she wasn't kill by her son and she lives in the movie forever. I appreciate that a lot. It was nice ❤
May the force be with you always.
There's one thing that's made me angry. It's not movie, but for me Star Wars is about story, friendship and relationships (not romantic), characters building, rebelion and hope, fighting against dark side and fighting for freedom, saving the galaxy, heroism and sacrifices and so on.. . It's just so complex story and I really (like really) hate that shipping bullshit around Rey and Kylo. People, are you fucking crazy? This is my only reaction. Of course, they're connected, but c'mon what about balance between light and dark and that kind of stuff? Reactions "they must be together"... Go to hell with that!
Enjoy Christmas Eve everybody! 🎁🎄 #bookstagram#bookish#books#starwars#rey#rebels#thelastjedi#generalleia#carriefisher#funkopop#funkopopvinyl#christmaslights#christmaseve#christmasvibes#maytheforcebewithyou#book#booklover#currentlyreading#knihy#vianoce
I finished Happy Home...well..that was emotionally exhausting. I went from furious to bawling my eyes out for a character i wanted to punch in the face.Well played Lee Pil Mo.Well played.*squints*
Off to the next kdrama! *cape blowing in the wind*😈
🌟#thebestof2017challenge ❄Plot twist
When talking of plot twists,J.K.Rowling is up there along with George R.R
It is not just one or two plot twists but dozens of them.
❄A book or said that wrapped up nicely
Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa
Yukarism by Chika Shiomi
The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima
The above were wrapped up so nicely. Their endings were more than satisfactory.😁
If you focus on the bottom of the photo you can see chocolate.
Chocolate is an all year round kind of sweet but it feels Christmasy. 😕
You see, although there are many traditional Christmas candies and sweets i can choose from, they are all "reserved" for the possible guests, relatives etc who might visit during the next few days.Meaning they are off limits. 😂
❄Best September read
📚The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
I don't know if it shows in the photo but my blanket is really cozy and warm. perfect for naps.😪

Winter - #booksindec17#bookaddicteddec17#liladec17 .
Here in Ohio, Winter is less a beautiful crystalline snowscape and more of a
wasteland of the dead and barren & thus this cover is a more accurate depication of my Winter than the pretty snowy covers I've been showing off all month. 😂 Oh yeah, take away the twingling magical fairy lights amongst the dead stuff. Ohio has no magical twinkling either. Just a lot of cold deadened land. Sigh... no seasonal melodrama going on here, clearly. 😉
Andam lendo algo interessante?
⠀Hello! 👋🏻 How are you? Lately, I've been reading 4 books at the same time: You, Apollyon, A Gathering of Shadows and the audiobook of The Mime Order (it's my second time reading this one this year, but I just wanted to reread 🙈)
⠀Until now, "A Gathering of Shadows" and "You" are the most likeable, though the second is a bit slow... I'm still at the very beginning, so I don't know exactly what to expect.
⠀And you guys? Have you been reading something interesting?

I saw a guy driving a pickup truck with a Confederate flag sticker in the back window...which only added fuel to my ire about the day's proceedings. It's Iowa, you can't even cry about southern heritage(not that I think that is a valid argument), you are just a racist asshole. I made sure to give him the bird on my way past....score one for passive agressive road rage me. 🖕🖕🖕
I logged into FB to clear my notifications today...I guess my phone doesn't go higher than 99 in it's little notification bubble. My disinterest in FB isn't the point...I saw a notification that one of the local gun ranges (of which there are many, seemingly disproportionate to the population) is hosting a couple's night...WTF...why is that a thing? I hate living in the Midwest so much. 😡
So, I'm not sure if I am being clever or lazy with prompts tonight, probably the latter if history is any indication. 🙄
#filmloverdecember - Jaws / books w/great imagery. Even though I'm not speaking to him right now because of his disinterest in finishing the 6th book, I do enjoy how Marin spins a scene. I feel like I am there, but I don't feel he gets too bogged down with details. 😁
#booksindec17 - winter themed books...winter is a big theme here. 😉
#dreamingofabookishchristmas - a book with festive feasts - murder is festive, yes? 😈
#uncriticaldecember - First day of Winter - Game of Thrones - Nice prompt 😉
#austenunleashed - Mrs. Bennett: Crazy Mothers...ummm yeah...I think we all know who I'm talking about...although Dany is a Mom to giant reptiles and she doesn't strike me as being overwhelmingly sane at times - she's a smidge of a pyro. 🔥🔥🔥
Hey, that went better than I thought it would. 😊
"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep darlings, till the summer comes again".
Winter is Here! ❄
In my country winter is very different from other places in the world but it is still my favorite season. One of my dreams is being in a place where it snows, I hope I can soon fulfill that one!
