Happy Sunday! ✨
QOTD: Do you take pictures in bulk or as you go?
I take the majority of my pictures in bulk and plan them out weeks in advance with an occasional shot thrown in 😊
Speaking of which, I'm going to be phasing out the whitish carpet from my feed and go back to a solid wood backdrop since I love the way it makes my feed look more cohesive. I'll also be adding the occasional edited video which I am very excited for!
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

"You are like that one piece of artwork in an art gallery that people spend a little longer admiring."
This Modern Love is a collection of love letters from different people all across the world, and it's absoluetly adorable! I've gifted it to people several times, because I just think it's too adorable and sweet to not share with anyone!
Today vs. Yesterday. What a difference a day makes!
A walk in the woods is good for the soul, but challenging for the extremities when attempting to capture enchantingly frosted landscapes. Thankfully, I was able to wake up today and not have to worry how I was going travel to and from work, instead I just stretched out and cracked open a book. It'll be a different story tomorrow, so I'll take all the relaxation I can get - gone are the days of sledging and snowball fights!
Technically speaking “Aphrodite: The Goddess Edition” is a special edition of @KylieMinogue’s eleventh album. But it’s a pop-up book, too! ☺️
I have been in such a Kylie high since the release of her new single in four years, Dancing, last Friday. This new song has me so excited for her new album that it made me look through some of the things I still have from when I used to collect (full time)her stuff- at one point I had 700+ items. Even though the collecting years are over, I have kept some items that I truly love. One of those items is the #AphroditeTheGoddessEdition .
Exclusively released in Australia during the summer of 2011, this pop-up book was limited to 1,000 copies. Each book was hand-numbered. Somehow the edition I have is a “K Special Edition” and numbered 113/200. I don’t know 🤷🏽♂️. Anyways, I really love this edition and was looking at it this morning ☀️ and wanted to share its beauty with you all 😁.
This begs the question: do you have an item that you could never get rid of?
I have spent my Sunday before work engrossed in these, which are both wonderful. My proper review of Eat Up! will go up on the day it’s published but there’s some thoughts in my new tinyletter (link in bio) later this week. I’m about halfway through Homegoing and it is brilliant so far; I just wish I’d pulled it out my #tbr pile earlier!
N.B. @profile.books very kindly sent me a copy of Eat Up! so that I could review it - as ever my opinion is still my own!
One of my favorite authors has to be @melissalanders! I love her writing style and the worlds she creates. Today I'm placing a huge order at the book depository and I am finally getting Starfall. Ordering books always makes me so excited to read more!
Book Review: The Wind Beneath His Wings (The Making Of An IITian)
Hard work is 99% and luck is 1%" and that's what the story of every successful person indicates. This book is not only about the success story of a boy selected in IIT but also the role played by the parents in shaping a child's destiny.
What I liked about the writer, i.e. the boy's mother, is that she accepted the fact that she never wanted her child to prepare for JEE for the sake of her social status but because she knew the boy is capable of cracking the nut. I said this because we find many parents who want to satiate their thirst for social esteem and to have something to brag about, that's why they pressurize their children to do so which results in failures and job dissatisfaction and hence depression of their children. The book is a quick read, it took me a couple of hours in one sitting, to complete the book.
Although there are a couple of grammatical errors.

| The History of Wolves |
. Acquired: 25 December 2017
Read: 25 December 2017
As tradition dictates, each year my Mum buys me at a book (and in recent years, the entire Man Booker Prize shortlist) for Christmas and I read it in its entirety on Christmas Day. I usually start it sprawled on the sofa and finish it tucked up in my childhood bed. This year the honour went to Emily Fridlund’s ‘The History of Wolves’, and here it is on the first bedspread I ever chose for myself.
‘The History of Wolves’ explores what it means to bear witness and the subsequent shadow this can cast over a life. In this regard it reminded me of ’The Girls’ by Emma Cline, despite the contrasting settings (a long, hot summer in California and a cold, bleak, winter in Minnesota). Both novels centre around a teenage girl who, in seeking out a surrogate family, becomes a passive participant in a terrible event that changes the course of her life. Both novels explore questions of culpability, memory, belonging and identity. And both novels, whilst being assured debuts, have something lacking.
In the case of Fridlund, this sense of absence ultimately arises from a flawed plot. We know from the first few pages how the novel will end, yet this early disclosure serves little purpose other than to make the event, when it happens, anti-climactic. Similarly the two strands of the novel - and even the title of the novel itself - sit somewhat separate from each other rather than connecting in any meaningful way. That being said, Fridlund’s sparse prose, both precise and poetic, is where the real strength of the novel lies, particularly when evoking the half-forgotten back-waters of Minnesota or narrating the tale through the eyes of her protagonist Linda. The fact that I read ‘The History of Wolves’ within a day is a testimony to Fridlund’s craft, but ultimately I came away a little disappointed.
¡Compartimos algunas metas!
_____________________________________________📚📖 Here you can see the surprise that I promised if we arrived at 200 followers😊
My idea is doing a weekly recommendation of another bookstagram account that we follow each other. I will recommend one account because I like the photos, the posts or the readings that it propose. Do you like this idea? The idea is sharing preferences and this hobby about books without no competitiveness. Because we do it for devotion🙆 ~
Today you can see in 2nd and 3rd photo the first recommended account, @andoleyendo. I recommend it because it has beautiful photos and I liked so much her goal: be a críticas reader. We share this goal!

[Long but worth it 🙏🏼] “This is the story of my tattoo. When we are first lovers, I tell you I want to get a tattoo. You tell me you hate tattoos, you think they’re cheap and that you don’t want me to have one...I tell you I’m going to get one whether you like it or not, and that I want a tattoo of William Blake’s tiger on my shoulder and you say, what, the whole poem? you’ll have to make sure the tattooist knows how to spell it with a y. I say no, not the poem, I want the picture he did of the tiger he wrote the poem about. You laugh out loud and tell me what Angela Carter said about that ‘fubsy beast’; she thought he looked more like a pajama case than a tiger. I go away and look up the word fubsy. I’ve never heard it before.
The next night I tell you I’ve decided that I’ll only have a tattoo done if you choose what it’s going to be.
Right, you say, I know exactly what.
You go to your bookshelves (this is before we’re living together, before we do the most faithful act of all, mix our separate books into one library) and you take down a slim volume of Jane Austen.
I didn’t know there was earlier Jane Austen than Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. This is from something I’ve never heard of called Jack & Alice. I read it:
The perfect form, the beautifull face, & elegant manners of Lucy so won on the affections of Alice that when they parted, which was not till after Supper, she assured her that except her Father, Brother, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins & other relations, Lady Williams, Charles Adams & a few dozen more of a particular freinds, she loved her better than almost any other person in the world.
Okay, which bit do you want? I say.
All of it, you say, from *The* to *world*, and I’ll expect your tattooist to spell beautiful like Austen does, with two l’s, and friend like the young Austen did. Or you’ll need to get yourself new skin because nothing less will do for me if you’re so determined to have a tattoo. Okay? [Continued in comments]
