What the freaking freak! When I read a book, the worst ending I don't want to read is found in this book. Well not in the bad way, when I mean worst, is the thing that will hurt you and break your heart.
This book played me well and Im crying.
This is the last book in the Siren Suicides Trilogy. The last book where Ailen Bright fights for her life in a world full of problems, as she runs away from the sirens and her father, with her friend Hunter by her side.
I expected a better ending. I love the series and goodness, the ending is not what I expected! It's way MORE than I expected and it was heartbreaking at the same time but I love it.
I was reading it first and was doing fine. I experienced the best girl fight that I read and as soon as I reach the end, goodness! I was screaming because I didn't expect it. I have to flip back the pages, looking for reasons why.
This is so intense and dark and I can't believe that it made me cry.
I would love to thank the author for making this series. It told me that we must love our life. No matter what are your experiences, there are people who will love you.
Love will turn the way around and will change your world.
If you're depressed, we are here for you. There's a suicide hotline made for you. Always remember that there are people who cares about you.
They are there. Waiting for you.

-¿Ana, estas muerta?
¡No, sigo viva!

Me encantó.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
by Maya Angelou
Genre: Nonfiction, Classics, Autobiography
Sent by their mother to live with their devout, self-sufficient grandmother in a small Southern town, Maya and her brother, Bailey, endure the ache of abandonment and the prejudice of the local "powhitetrash." At eight years old and back at her mother’s side in St. Louis, Maya is attacked by a man many times her age—and has to live with the consequences for a lifetime. Years later, in San Francisco, Maya learns that love for herself, the kindness of others, her own strong spirit, and the ideas of great authors ("I met and fell in love with William Shakespeare") will allow her to be free instead of imprisoned.
Poetic and powerful, I Know Why the Caged Bird Singswill touch hearts and change minds for as long as people read. -

I noticed that a few of my last post haven't really been getting the same impressions (this is the number of times your post has been seen for y'all who are on non-business accounts) and this makes me quite sad tbh 😢 I put so much effort on my posts and it really irks me that the platform itself is the one that is limiting, not even just the likes or engagement, but, the ability of my post to be seen. It makes me more sad that this could cause newer accounts to get discouraged. This is exactly why when I'm free I do free random shoutouts. I mean, if one free shoutout can deter somebody from quitting bookstagram then I am willing to take the effort to do a screenshot and do a shoutout. I am no big account but one word of encouragement couldn't hurt 😁 If I haven't been giving your account some love or even just a need a free shoutout, send me a DM and I'll be sure to check your feed out and send some love for your account along the way 🤩

The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future
by Chris Guillebeau
Genre: Nonfiction, Business, Selfhelp
In The $100 Startup, Chris Guillebeau shows you how to lead of life of adventure, meaning and purpose – and earn a good living.
Still in his early thirties, Chris is on the verge of completing a tour of every country on earth – he’s already visited more than 175 nations – and yet he’s never held a “real job” or earned a regular paycheck. Rather, he has a special genius for turning ideas into income, and he uses what he earns both to support his life of adventure and to give back.
There are many others like Chris – those who’ve found ways to opt out of traditional employment and create the time and income to pursue what they find meaningful. Sometimes, achieving that perfect blend of passion and income doesn’t depend on shelving what you currently do. You can start small with your venture, committing little time or money, and wait to take the real plunge when you're sure it's successful.
In preparing to write this book, Chris identified 1,500 individuals who have built businesses earning $50,000 or more from a modest investment (in many cases, $100 or less), and from that group he’s chosen to focus on the 50 most intriguing case studies. In nearly all cases, people with no special skills discovered aspects of their personal passions that could be monetized, and were able to restructure their lives in ways that gave them greater freedom and fulfillment.
Here, finally, distilled into one easy-to-use guide, are the most valuable lessons from those who’ve learned how to turn what they do into a gateway to self-fulfillment. It’s all about finding the intersection between your “expertise” – even if you don’t consider it such -- and what other people will pay for. You don’t need an MBA, a business plan or even employees. All you need is a product or service that springs from what you love to do anyway, people willing to pay, and a way to get paid.
DEARLY, DEPARTED by Lia Habel
Hardbound. Slight spotting on top edge but otherwise in perfect condition. P600.
Love can never die.
Love conquers all, so they say. But can Cupid’s arrow pierce the hearts of the living and the dead - or rather, the undead? Can a proper young Victorian lady find true love in the arms of a dashing zombie?
The year is 2195. The place is New Victoria - a high-tech nation modeled on the manners, mores, and fashions of an antique era. A teenager in high society, Nora Dearly is far more interested in military history and her country’s political unrest than in tea parties and debutante balls. But after her beloved parents die, Nora is left at the mercy of her domineering aunt, a social-climbing spendthrift who has squandered the family fortune and now plans to marry her niece off for money. For Nora, no fate could be more horrible - until she’s nearly kidnapped by an army of walking corpses.
But fate is just getting started with Nora. Catapulted from her world of drawing-room civility, she’s suddenly gunning down ravenous zombies alongside mysterious black-clad commandos and confronting “The Laz,” a fatal virus that raises the dead - and hell along with them. Hardly ideal circumstances. Then Nora meets Bram Griswold, a young soldier who is brave, handsome, noble . . . and dead. But as is the case with the rest of his special undead unit, luck and modern science have enabled Bram to hold on to his mind, his manners, and his body parts. And when his bond of trust with Nora turns to tenderness, there’s no turning back. Eventually, they know, the disease will win, separating the star-crossed lovers forever. But until then, beating or not, their hearts will have what they desire.
In Dearly, Departed, romance meets walking-dead thriller, spawning a madly imaginative novel of rip-roaring adventure, spine-tingling suspense, and macabre comedy that forever redefines the concept of undying love.
|| NON-SPOILER BOOK REVIEW||
I just started reading shadowhunter chronicles and planning to finish all the books this year. And I finished reading City of Bones!
I really liked the characters (they're not the best) but I think they will develop in the next books so I'm rooting for that!
Clary - not the best protagonist, but I can tolerate her even though she makes a lot of stupid decisions 😂
Jace - what I like about him is his humour. He makes the conversation fun and and makes pun every once in a while. (I was proud when I managed all his cockiness till the end)
Simon - He is just as funny as Jace, but he is kind. Idk but I felt like Clary just used him throughout. He deserves the best, that's all.
Alec - He hates Clary at first which is good (because boi, SAME). He is the best protector, He cares so much for everyone and that's cool.
Isabelle - She's sassy. Awesome in combat. Another spot-taker to my fictional crush. I hope she has cooking scenes in every books because it's so funny to read 😂. My favorite character so far.
There are parts that is quite confusing at first but was explained later on. Action-packed. Great characters. Really has a lot of potential when it comes to the world. I'm still neutral about the plot. But overall, still a great read! Will definitely recommend :)
I'm going to read City of Ashes maybe next week or next month. I joined in @emmmabooks ' shadowhunter read-a-long and she will have live discussions of every book in designated time :) (look for my 4th post for more details)
Goodreads rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
"To the people who look at the stars and wish, Rhys."
- Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury
YASSS! It's finally Friday! It's just the first week of this semester but I can already feel the pressure. My thesis partner and I were busy all week looking for potential thesis topics. I'm so tired of reading endless journals and articles full of math and computer science mumbo jumbo. I'm gonna rest tonight and read ACOMAF, which is wayyyyyy more enjoyable to read than academic papers. I'm now off to Velaris! (Can I just live there forever and forget our thesis? Huhuhahaha)
Also, I got my graduation pictures today! This is supposed to be my last semester, but I'm going to extend for at least one sem (which is totally fine by me). Seeing my graduation pictures seemed to make it more real that I'm almost at the end of this part of my life. I'm almost there, I just have to get through these toughest semesters, and then I'm finally graduating! Aaaah! Though I'm not sure what I'll do once I graduate hahaha. I'm honestly not happy with the field I'm studying so I'm thinking about pursuing other interests... such as art ❤
Gençlik serisinde nadir beğendiğim serilerdendir, gerçi Jennifer'in tarzı aynı.
And Still I Rise
by Maya Angelou
Genre: Poetry, Classics, Feminism
In this inspiring poem, Maya Angelou celebrates the courage of the human spirit over the harshest of obstacles. An ode to the power that resides in us all to overcome the most difficult circumstances, this poem is truly an inspiration and affirmation of the faith that restores and nourishes the soul. Entwined with the vivid paintings of Diego Rivera, the renowned Mexican artist, Angelou's words paint a portrait of the amazing human spirit, its quiet dignity, and pools of strength and courage.
An ideal gift for a friend, lover, or family member, this special edition will be treasured by all who receive it.
If you could be a mutant, what kind of power would you like to possess?
Behold! My lame attempt at trying to play with Photoshop 😂
Anywho, have you ever played Dungeons and Dragons? Well, I got the pleasure of playing an online version of it right here on bookstagram. A Renegades version. Which if you ask me makes it 100000000000x cooler.
I play the character of Fallout Girl, a Renegade with the ability to manipulate atoms. *wiggles fingers to make a point* It's all part of this month's game for #halflostbutterflyreadalong . 2 months ago, I participated in the intense Warcross-inspired game that was made by our tricky gamemaster, Paige (@popthebutterfly) also known as Mama Paige, Santa Paige, Genie Paige, and other nicknames we have given her depending on what sort of surprises she will throw at us.
The games and challenges every month just gets better and harder and trickier. Both cool and stressful btw. So if you want to join in the "fun", head on over to @halflostbutterflyreadalong and send a message.
Every month means a new book, which means a new game, which means new prizes waiting. ;)
I can't say that today is friyay! Because I have a class tomorrow at 7:30am and we even have a quiz 😢 Aaand I am supposedly reviewing right now, but here I am, bookstagramming... 😐

The Sun Is Also a Star
by Nicola Yoon .
Genre: Young Adult, Realistic Fiction, Romance, Contemporary
Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.
Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.
The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true? -
Good day to you all! It's a beautiful morning out here 😍

In other news, my whole entire city is preparing for the annual Sinulog festival, which is arguably one of the biggest cultural and religious events in the Philippines. Everybody's going out and about...and then there's me...staying indoors with my books. 😂 I've kind of retired from partying and festivities. Is that wrong? Hahaha anyway, happy Friday!

As if I would want to give up the thing that makes me stronger than anything else ever has. I never dared give much of myself to anyone before – bits of myself to the Lightwoods, to Isabelle and Alec, but it took years to do it – but, Clary, since the first time I saw you, I have belonged to you completely. I still do. If you want me."

My style is simple, so your product will easily be the center of attraction. I do reviews on my blog, youtube channel and all social media sites. I would be a great addition to your team since I always meet deadlines do what is asked of me.
