Thanks again to @worldsendrum for being kind enough to send us a bottle of their rum to review. Firstly, World’s End Spice Rum is not yet available in the UK and we have no idea why as this is seriously good stuff! This rum was created out of a passion for rum and it really shines through the blend, the base of which is 3-5 year old rums from Barbados and Trinidad. World’s End Rum perfectly combines spices with the natural flavours that occur as a result of maturation. On the nose you are met with a deep rich spicy aroma with citrus and orange peel notes. The palate is surprisingly complex with notes of baking spices, vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate and a light but lovely oak smoky finish. This spiced rum is defiantly worth trying if you are looking for something that combines the rummy flavour, that we all know and love, with delicious spices.
This rum is great neat as you get to experience it's full flavour and warmth, it is also great over ice and mixed. .
✨ＦＡＩＴＨ & ＦＬＯＷＥＲ✨
DTLA // Sunday thru Thursday 5pm to 6:30pm
TIPSY SCALE ($-$$$): $$
JUST THE TIP (best bang for your buck): Beer + $1 Oysters
DCHE SAYS: I have to start off by saying that Faith & Flower is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have been to. If you are looking for a good first Tinder date, their happy hour is one of romance without breaking the wallet. The kanpachi ceviche and the deviled eggs were two of my favorites. The deviled jidori eggs has the best asian flair incorporating korean chili and kimchee, leaving a interesting flavor on the tongue, to say the least. I’m not usually a rum drinker, but the happy hour daiquiri was delicious, a refreshing clean and balanced taste without being sweet. I also enjoyed the Stiegl grapefruit beer. Think grapefruit soda but with alcohol.
KDUB SAYS: Faith & Flower gets major points for atmosphere. There are two dining rooms and a separate and spacious bar area that is just as pretty as the rest of the restaurant. There’s also a patio area but the inside is so drop dead gorgeous who cares? We had one of almost every food item and everything was good to great, with fluctuating prices to match. The oysters were only a dollar, which you know I love, but the Kanpachi Ceviche was the standout here. They know it too, as it’s the most expensive happy hour item, setting you back $16- but you will not regret it. There was also a Scallop Ceviche on the menu, same price, and it was the only thing we didn’t get. I would love to go back and see if it’s as special as the Kanpachi. Also loved the Classic Margherita Pizza, which is exactly what it says it is, and the Deviled Jidori Eggs which were really unique.
2 FUCKS UP: We both give 2 fucks about the Kanpachi Ceviche. The Kanpachi (Amberjack) is cured in ginger beer, who knew! What we do know is that it is truly divine.
One Granderita a day, will keep all the stress away.
2 oz Grander Rum
½ oz lime juice
½ oz agave syrup
Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add ingredients and shake vigorously for 30 seconds . Strain into a cocktail glass with a sea salt rim. Garnish with lime wedge. Enjoy!
Our Earth Day (weekend) consisted of making whisky from grain grown by good folks right here in Colorado and enjoying these ridiculous views. An elk herd even strolled through and cut the grass. #estespark#coloradowhisky#elkherd
Best decision I made today was the Bartender's choice of Old Fashioned! Smoked glass and made with Dark Horse Whisky, Vanilla-Chili Spiced Sugar Cube, Aztec Dark Chocolate, Bitters @one18empire Could be a dangerous habit. #boozysunday#yycsbest
At @industryalley where they're hosting a charity "Bar Takeover" by the folks from @thestandardpour, drink specials sponsored by @remymartin & @cointreau. Shown is the "Lady Betty", a brilliant blend of @thebotanistgin, cranberry/rosemary syrup, lemon, @liqueurstgermain, and egg white, garnished with a few drops of Peychaud's bitters. Dangerously smooth. Look, I know it's a Sunday night. I know you have to work in the morning... But come on... It's for charity!!! (Please note, I actually have a tab. This is not a media comp. I just love what they're doing and who's doing it.)
