There are two main types of stock: common and preferred.
Common stock usually entitles the owner to vote at shareholders' meetings and to receive dividends.
Preferred stock generally does not have voting rights, but has a higher claim on assets and earnings than the common shares. For example, owners of preferred stock receive dividends before common shareholders and have priority in the event that a company goes bankrupt and is liquidated.
Reflecting back from Spring IDN Summit till now it has been a year of amazing change for me. Despite those changes I felt like I have been grounded by three values that I keep consistent:
1) I’m still passionate about relationships and doing my best to help others succeed. This is at my core and nothing will ever change that.
2) I still believe in the power of a diverse team. From different backgrounds and experiences we position ourselves and our organizations to create smarter solutions while leveraging our collective brilliance. 3) I feel accountable for driving the positive change needed to make American Healthcare more globally competitive. I’m just that bold to believe that together we can be more innovative while molding something pretty special for our country.
As the seasons transition (except for Texas... it’s always HOT) I see nothing but a bright future for all of us. -Sean P.
