After work tonight I went to a networking event. Networking events are so outside my comfort zone- I am an introvert that would much rather curl up on my couch with Netflix and hot chocolate. But I went and I survived.
Marathon training is similar. Sometimes you have to put yourself out of your comfort zone to grow, and go to the gym when you'd rather be home. It would have been nice to go home and relax after the event, but I knew I had to get my miles in. So I went and I survived.
6 treadmill miles & lots of foam rolling 👟
I know everything the Pelicans GM said, I put the quote in the 2nd picture to show it. My main points are in the header so I’ll just jump into my logic. A trade for Anthony Davis will NOT happen before the trade deadline for many reasons, a trade would happen after the season ends instead. One reason why is because a likely part of the package would be the possible Lakers pick. Danny Ainge and the Pelicans GM will want to know the value of that pick before trading it/for it. Another reason why a blockbuster trade won’t go down before the deadline is because New Orleans is uncertain about what they want to do as far as extending DeMarcus Cousins goes. I think the team will want to see Cousins and Davis play in the postseason together before trading Davis, rather than jumping the gun and dishing Davis out before seeing the team in the postseason. If you have your hopes up for a pre-deadline trade, please don’t get too excited. However, just because a trade won’t happen now, I could definitely see a trade occurring in the 2018 offseason. If New Orleans makes the playoffs as a 7-8 seed and gets swept, the Pelicans could do what the Chicago Bulls did and decide they could not win a championship in the next couple years, that there was no point in being the 8 seed, and tanking. Recently, the asking price for stars has appeared to be a lot, then turned out to not be very much (Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Carmelo Anthony and in retrospect Kyrie Irving). So I don’t buy into the Pelicans saying Boston would have to “give up the New England Patriots.” I’d say Al Horford, the Lakers pick, the Grizzlies and Clippers 2019 first rounders, and a young, bench talent like Semi Ojeleye could be enough. Those assets do not equate to Anthony Davis, but the Pelicans may be willing to do that trade because they will also be able to do worse in the regular season, causing their own picks to be better. In conclusion, a trade won’t go down before the deadline, but very well could in the offseason.
Turns out there's still some good out there in the world after all...and in New York City of all places! Back in December when my dad and I were visiting my brother and his family in Brooklyn, when we got out of the cab, my wallet didn't. Today it was in my mailbox, sent anonymously. My $80 America the Beautiful pass (and my Charlie Card ... #bostonstrong#gosawx ....) were intact. Thank you whoever went out of your way to do the right thing. You did your city proud. The Yankees still suck but there's at least one New Yorker out there whom I owe.
About to check out some downtown Nashville and see what's up. If you got some good food suggestions hit me up and let me know Awe Man, I'm Public Enemy Number one around here with this Patriots jersey.
According to reports, the Red Sox have offered JD Martinez a deal for 5 years around $100 million. This seems very low to most people and it’s making a lot more sense why he’s willing to wait until spring training to sign
UPDATE: Martinez’s agent Scott Boras claims these reports are inaccurate

We’ll always remember the amazing Boston Strong, City of Champions event we had with @jimmiejohnson back in 2013. Thank you for all the memories you helped create for Boston sports fans!
In 2015 when I ran the Boston Marathon they had purple and orange jackets. They are OK, but crazy bright. I always wanted another jacket that year. Imagine how excited I was when this beauty showed up on Ebay, new, with tags! I was always bummed I didn’t buy it at the expo that year. It took weeks to get here from London (!!) but it was worth the wait. Love it! 🦄❤️💙💛 .....
