The Bosu Medicine Ball Side To Side Rotation is an excellent core strengthening exercise that when combined with the instability of the bosu, makes it even more challenging as it recruits more muscle fibers in your legs and core. If this is too hard, I show an easier modification at the end of this video. - @bradgouthro

To get started:
1. Place the bosu on the floor so the flat platform points up.
2. While holding a medicine ball and keeping your core contracted for balance, step one foot onto one side of the bosu platform followed by the other foot to get into a shoulder width stance.
3. Slightly bend your hips and knees to get into an athletic stance, then extend your arms out to the center of your body at shoulder level with the medicine ball.
4. Keeping your arms extended and your hips locked in and facing forward, rotate your upper body and arms to one side as far as you can, while contracting your core to keep your hips locked in and square to the front.
5. Rotate your arms back to the center, then rotate to the other side as far as you can with all the movement coming from the torso, not the hips.
6. That’s one rep.
7. Repeat for reps.
8. For an easier modification, flip the bosu so the flat platform is on the floor, then stand on the wobbly side. Repeat for reps the same way as mentioned earlier.

1. If you’re not familiar with the bosu, start off with a warm up of up to a minute of small bounces on both feet to get comfortable. Ensure you’re contracting your core to maintain balance, keeping your knees aligned.
2. Next, you can move on to 90 degree bosu jump turns by bending your knees and jumping up into the air, rotating your body a ¼ turn, then stick the landing with a strong core and cushion the landing by bending your knees.
3. Once you’re stable, continue jump 90 degrees the opposite way to land back at the starting position.
4. That’s one rep.
5. Repeat for reps.
6. To progress, if you’re more advanced, follow the same steps but this time add in a 180 degree bosu jump turn, then eventually a 360 degree bosu jump turn.
7. Safety first. Don’t be a hero.

A origem do recurso material “BOSU”, no que consta na literatura, é mérito do Personal Trainer, fisiologista do exercício, David Weck (2000). BOSU é um acrônimo que significa “Both Sides UP” ou seja, os dois lados podem ser utilizados para cima. O fabricante “Hedstrom Fitness” responsável pela produção do BOSU, se localiza nos Estados Unidos em Ashland, Ohio. O objetivo deste recurso material é diverso e abrange desde os alunos iniciantes aos avançados. Uma avaliação prévia ao treinamento no Bosu é necessária, visto que diversos indivíduos necessitam de uma familiarização para identificar sua capacidade funcional e condição de manutenção em bases instáveis. O treino no BOSU aumenta a coordenação devido a melhora da simetria do corpo, ou seja, através da “Força Funcional” o indivíduo equipara sua capacidade de trabalhar para diferentes dimensões corporais. Quando ocorre uma “assimetria”, uma execução do movimento que detecta que um lado do corpo está “mais forte” do que o outro, cabe ao professor auxiliar nesta melhora para que ambos os lados do corpo estejam simétricos na realização das tarefas. A progressão dos movimentos é necessária nestes momentos, para que a “Força Funcional” seja desenvolvida na melhora das habilidades motoras, sendo verificada quando os músculos trabalham juntos para realizar uma tarefa motora simples ou complexa, fácil ou difícil. Neste momento onde a força funcional está atuante, o “resto” do corpo estará todo conectado para alcançar uma única tarefa, ou seja, uma função “corporal” de forma integrada ao movimento.
