My first marathon was 21 months ago, and since then, I’ve ran NINE! It’s kind of hard to believe!
My finish times have all been between 3:46 (my first) when I had no clue what I was doing, to my current PR of 3:23! Every single marathon has been a gift and also all very different!
I’ll NEVER forget my first marathon— or the first time I knew for certain I secured Boston!
I LOVE running. I love marathons— there’s something special about the distance. Hard enough to really push yourself pace wise and the distance but long enough that pushing the pace + the distance hurts! Am I right?!
I’m so excited to have my first Boston experience in 2018! I’m also excited after Boston to see what’s next. Maybe explore a new distance — and become an ultra runner, run trails— or spend time and focus on getting fast for a half?! I’m ready to mix things up!
One thing remains true— I LOVE running, I love friendships I’ve made through running— I love the discipline and hard work running requires — I love the amazing accomplished feeling of crossing that finish line— and I love this community and all of the joy and encouragement you all have brought me! No matter the distance or the pace— Running brings us ALL the same joy!
✨ Vacation Day Bliss ✨
8 boardwalk miles with 2x2 tempo Miles at ‘half pace’—whatever that means right now (avg about 7 min pace). I love running next to the ocean—I always have. But you’ll never catch me in it. 🙅🏽♀️🦈
Yesterday I ran the distance of a half marathon and it was sunny, windy & cold with patches of ice along the sidewalk. I'm so glad I didn't fall on the ice! 🤗It's crazy how the same place can look so different after one week. All of the leaves on the path were gone and the trees were covered with snow. I'll need to get used to running in all kinds of conditions if I want to complete the marathon training this winter. Once you go outside and start running, it's really not that bad!
