My first truly "successful" 100% sourdough bread! WoooT!
I started my own sourdough "starter" about a month ago. Actually have two going on, one in the fridge that now gets fed once a week, and one on the counter, used for 3 or 4 times a week baking. This is the fifth loaf I've baked using my starter, but the previous four had... issues. Bad proofing stages, poor oven rises, kinda flat loaves. Well this one! Perfect for me! Really good initial rise, excellent proofing second rise, good performance in the oven, and holy cow, it tastes great!
As much as I love all of our traditional family Christmas cookies it’s always fun to try something new. This year it’s definitely going to be this beautiful drunken pear gingerbread loaf.
