El #PanDeOrégano es uno de mis panes saborizados favoritos, es muy aromático y muchos hasta lo asemejan con el olor de una pizza. Los elaboran de distintas formas, redondos para hamburguesas, alargados para subs, o también tipo bollos como estos que acabo de preparar.
Warburtons Seeded Batch Bread, 800g, £1.55
Verdict: ‘It’s not you, it’s me, but... how can you be so boring while still getting all stuck in my teeth?’ Nothing says I didn’t go out last night like massive sunglasses while nibbling a plain slice of bread.... (see video) But being a young person with a full time job and an inability to say stop, bread is your friend, your saviour, always there - at the end of the night and the morning after. Bread won’t leave you high and dry and bread will always make your breakfast.
Anyway, I digress.
After a late night, this morning I needed such a reliable companion. So as I left the house this is what I grabbed... and nibbled down the street like the classy girl I am. And it was... ok.
Admittedly sandwich bread doesn’t massively do it for me, especially those masquerading as something they are not. The distinction between crust and centre was confused here but the consistency wasn’t terrible and I can imagine having a decent sandwich with it. The slight saltiness which gave way to sweetness was nice but felt over manufactured as the aftertaste was predominantly bland and cardboardy. The bread also glooped in the mouth rather than melting which wasn’t particularly pleasant. There were a lot of seeds in this bread which was nice, however I felt too many which were too small which ended up stuck in my teeth. Not ideal when you are trying to hold it together.
I suppose given it’s a mass produced sliced loaf it could be worse, but I endeavour to keep better bread in the house from now on for such occasions.
Excuse the ramblings today however in this instance I thought it only fair to contextualise.

Bulk should have gone longer, but my window of availability for shaping was closing, so these little guys had a slightly early shaping and a longer than usual room temp rest in the banneton before hitting the fridge for the night. #naturallyleavened
