🍳 Eat This for FAT LOSS! 🍳
☀️ Good morning!!! And Happy Monday! Let’s kickstart this week by talking about something pretty darn important… breakfast!
🥞 However, the truth is… despite what the saying goes — Breakfast is the most important… — you don’t actually NEED to eat breakfast if you don’t want to! Some meal timing strategies have you postponing your first meal of the day until later on (calorie sparing for later meals) while others encourage a hearty breakfast *the most important meal*. Both are perfectly valid, for certain individuals.
👍🏼 Now, with that being said, if you’re reading this then I am going to assume you’re not following any sort of “fasting meal strategy” and you do want to eat breakfast to fuel and fill you up for the day. And if that’s the case, let’s talk about the keys to a kick ass, fat burning breakfast!
1️⃣ The first key to a “fat loss” breakfast is (in my opinion) a healthy balance of key macronutrients and a reasonable number of calories. I like having protein, carbs and fat in my breakfast, as each macronutrient aids my body differently throughout the day. We can discuss details at another time about macros (post on this coming soon) but, I wouldn’t neglect one macro at this meal.
2️⃣ Speaking of macros, breakfast is the perfect meal to load up on protein! Why? Well, protein is often the most difficult macro to hit for a lot of people, so starting off your day with 30-50g can be a really solid way to jumpstart your protein intake! PLUS, protein is the macronutrient that takes the most energy to digest, and it’s also the macronutrient that’ll to the best job filling you up!
3️⃣ Micronutrients! Start your day with the essentials! Fruit, veggies, vitamins and minerals! No better way to promote optimal health, while enjoying and adding flavor to your meal!
🍓 Make sense? Now, keep in mind this is just ONE breakfast option. If you want to swap out the strawberries for a banana, do it. Or raspberries? Do it! Or don’t like mushroom? Cool, do something else instead! The principles are what matter, not just the food choices. Got it?

I highly recommend takapuna for a beach day, have some fUn In ThE sUn (try not to get sun turnt 👹) and head towards the strand for a smoothie bowl or there is this little cute alley of food places including poke poke, burger burger, fish fish (who copied who aye), bluebells, bird on a wire, Dante’s and a hella lotta more stunner places. I tried the gym by my work out during my break today. It was definitely a different experience, neither good or bad. Lots of new machines and nice FULL length mirrors to selfie in 😉(But they were all either occupied or a sketch elderly man was nearby so I was unable to utilize them 😞) But I was thankful I was able to workout today because I haven't worked out in...probably 10 days. Which isn't bad, but I was definitely missing my daily dose of endorphins. .
I've also decided that I am going to start saying nice things to myself. It's incredibly hard. 23+ years of a lack of self-esteem isn't something that can be undone overnight. But I'm saying things like, "I am a good person. I am accountable. These are good things. I am a good person." And even though they aren't specific, it helps. And progress is progress no matter how small it is. .
Focusing on allowing myself to be who I am. Feel how I feel. Do what I want to do. It's much harder than it should be. But I have to start somewhere. Happy Wednesday lovely people ❤️🌻
