How often do we breathe daily? How often do we breathe consciously?
In our daily lives, we often forget that breathing is an active process which we can influence by our own attitude. By taking into consideration that the way we breathe shapes the way we perceive and feel the world around us, raising awareness for breathing can affect our daily state of mind in a huge way.
Have you ever heard about breathing techniques? Special exercises can help us regulating and improving our breathing and therefore provide us with a healthier everyday life.
Specific breathing exercises can support you in stressful, chaotic or even depressive situations. Thus, whenever you feel like the world is collapsing, wait a few seconds, take a deep breath and try this relaxing breathing technique:
In this exercise, you need to sit on a chair, your back should be straight forward. Relax your shoulders and focus on one specific point in your sight and keep your eyes focused on that point.
Start breathing through your nose. Take a deep breath and wait for two seconds. Then, keep exhaling. Now, focus on the length of your breathing. Try to take 4 seconds for every breath.
How do you feel?

Sukasana, aka; easy pose. And yet there is nothing easy about it! It may not look “fancy” but it’s possibly the most challenging thing for most of us to do; sit freakin still. Calm the fluctuations of the mind by disciplining the body to not fidget, adjust or unconsciously move. For all of my peeps that love working out hard, start adding this pose to the end of each workout. Sit and focus on your breath for at least 5 minutes. Talk about being present! Want an extra challenge? Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 8 counts...take note of how much more chill, grounded and focused you will be in that moment and throughout your day. #balance#sukasana#meditatedaily#calmaf#practice#mindful#yogini#hathayoga#pranyama#breathingexercises#shiva#thepracticebali

Teaching our daughters to be strong, to stand up, to mind up, to be fierce and yet kind, as they will be the mother’s of tomorrow •
She minds-up before a big karate test. Her last test before she tests for black. 6 years working hard and committed to getting her black. She’s looking so strong and I was proud to see her using her breathing during the test. I’m wishing her good luck!! •

We need water, food and air for survival, that is it. Those are the 3 basic needs in order for a human to thrive. Of course in this day and age you could toss in shelter, money, sex and alcohol. But I am just talking from a survival state. WE could go for weeks without food, days without water but only minutes without oxygen. This makes breathing THE most important of all 3 survival requirements.
Oxygen is fuel, combining with pyruvic acid (a breakdown of glucose:) within the tissue cells to provide us with energy to stay alive and thrive. In other words, to meet the demands of our metabolism. *
How can we begin to make sure we are getting enough oxygen for our cells? Lets just start with nose breathing as much as you can. When we mouth breath we not only bring in less oxygen, we blow off more carbon dioxide.

Tonight’s yoga class was the most intense class I have been to. The amount of sweat I produced was intoxicating. The heaviness and control of my breath was cleansing. The slow transitions of each move were meditative. Each move brought up an emotion and then a release And the teacher was an absolute bad ass!!! I left class tonight experiencing a whole other level of bliss. I walked out feeling pure love exploding from my body. I am literally on cloud 9 right now. #meditation#yoga#love#growth#selflove#selfcare#breathingexercises#niyamasol
The more aware you are, the better our world becomes. Having a clear perception of your strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, fears, motivation, and emotions will allow you to better understand others and how they perceive you. Self awareness is the first step to our success. It's not always easy, but the universe needs you 💯
The metabolic breathing program (link in profile) is about restoring normal breathing patterns in the midst of the stress of life. We teach this so the dysfunctions of caused by breathing or symptoms can be adapted to, as well as eliminated. *
We breath automatically over 20,000 times per day. BUT it is possible to alter the speed and depth of breathing simply be choice. We can’t speed up digestion, but we can make a conscious decision to take control of our breathing. We then begin to make an automatic system and make it both unconscious and conscious. *
Confucius once said “what has to be taught first is the breath.” We say “what has to be taught first is the relaxed breath.”
Try sitting in a quiet space in a formal breathing position. Just be aware of what is going on in your body, what is relaxed, what is tense, where is there pain, no pain, what is moving with breathing, etc. Don’t mind your breath, be aware of it, what is going on. Do this for about 3-5min. After that take over. Begin to slow the inhale down and the exhale down and increase this over time. What has changed now that you went from automatic breathing to conscious breathing?
I am in complete awe of everything around me 😳 look at the TRUNK of this TREE!! 😍 If that sounds silly, good 😜

The discovery of the thoracic pump shows the connection between the diaphragm, the ANS and arterial blood pressure. This coherence exists as long as we breath coherently.
Coherence means in rhythm between inhale and exhale, about 2-6x per minute and through the nose only. A missing or weakened releationship between these three has a negative effect on health. *
When the thoracic pump works the ANS swings in and out with our breath. With breathing in, it goes towards sympathetic. When we breathe out, it goes towards sympathetic. The sum of this result creates a balance in the ANS.
When people start practicing yoga, they expect that immediately as in the pictures of Instagram they will bend into a pose Zyu))) 🤸🏻♀️And immediately became very upset when it does not work out right away. But all these photos are the result of hard, passion everyday work. Just focus your attention on breathing. Be compassionate to your body. Everything will come with time. Enjoy the practice and your body 🙏🏻 #yogainspiration#inflexibleyogis#peaceofmind#begginingyoga#bepassion#enjoythelittlethings#behappy#breathingexercises#dubai#helthylifestyle
🔉👂🏽BINAURAL BEATS - some of the benefits may include, deeper sleep, body healing ,mindfulness, increased positivity, enhanced mental focus , anti-anxiety and spirituality connectivity.... So how does it work? It's an imaginary tone created in the brain when it is presented with two different frequencies at the same time.
Binaural beats research has shown that you can change how you feel simply by listening to binaural beats frequencies. If you want to feel active and alert, you can listen to tones that have a bigger difference in frequency. If you want to feel calmer or fall asleep, you can listen to tones that are closer together. My personal favorite time to use them is floating in a sensory deprivation tank. I also play binaural beats sometimes before bed with headphones.
Binaural Beats might not be for everyone if you have an Irregular heartbeat or other heart conditions or suffer from epileptic seizures you might want to avoid BB therapy all together.
For more in depth information on binaural beats or if you want to try them I suggest first to check out the work of Doctor Robert Monroe
#tbt to learning from the one and only Judith Kravitz, founder of transformational breathing, during a course that truly lived up to the name of the technique.
For the next couple of weeks I won’t be teaching any classes or workshops as I’ll be attending courses in the UK and Norway, all about the breath 🌬. I can’t wait to share all my new learnings with you! 🤗
I haven’t been sleeping well in recent nights. Wound a bit tight- haven’t felt anxious to this degree in quite some time. It will pass. In the mean time, I was in my #unicornroom at 2:40a working through some #relaxation#asana and #breathingexercises . It’s now 3:30a- I’ve done some #yoga and am currently relaxing after #breakfast with one of my #cats in my lap and despite feeling a tad tired am feeling #prettygood . 👍😎🧘🏼♀️
