Let's agree on one thing. They were all excellent.
Thin Lizzy were a fantastic band with all these great guitar players through their career.
Eric Bell brought a folkish tone with influences from blues and Jimi Hendrix. The three first albums is ace.
Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson introduced
the “Twin Guitar Attack” that became the classic twin harmony Thin Lizzy sound.
Gary Moore, Snowy White and John Sykes filled in after
Brian Robertson's departure
with their own personality
Midge Ure (The Rich Kids, Ultravox) toured but never
made any recordings.
So much wrong with this album cover. It doesn’t reflect the music at all. Even when I was 13 or 14 I thought it was silly and hoped it was meant ironic. But worst of all: #ThinLizzy was forever doomed to be displayed in the heavy metal sections at my local record shops. Alongside Maiden, Saxon and Priest! So wrong. Lizzy was never a metal band! But the album ignited my affection for the rock/soul/pop/folk band Thin Lizzy. «Wild One» still makes me feel like a hopeful romantic...
