📷“Gelato burger” as seen in Brixton, south London.
What do you think? Should they use its original name or better being creative? 🙌
It is technically correct for UK audience to understand the traditional use of this bun deliciously filled with icecream.
So well done @scoopgelato for thinking about it!
In Sicily you will find it named as “Brioche con gelato” in Italian, or “brioscia cco gelato” in Sicilian. Even better, “brioscia col tuppo” in Sicilian-Italian because it has a chignon shaped dough on top (in facts, tuppo comes from the French world toupet 🇫🇷): people consider it the best part of the bun and, when sharing a meal with a loved one, they use to donate it as a genuine demonstration of love 💖.
The brioche has to be piping hot, in order to be in contrast with the cold sensation of the icecream 🔥❄️. It is yummy with the granita as well. .
