I'm so thankful to have the human right to be able to have a voice (and "vote") on my own validity as a member of society.
Note the sarcasm.
There's not much point to writing another rant about all this as I suspect most (hopefully all) who choose to connect with me have or will vote "yes". Don't waste your vote!
But let's all be clear and hopefully spread the word in enough time to make a difference, that this is a vote of social acceptance for the LBGTQI community. A wonderful community (despite a few bitches) who until only very recently has been told it isn't normal for the most part; that they live a sad life; are the butt of jokes (no pun intended); that to be successful you need to stay closested; that has had a very high rate of attempted suicide and the list goes on. This debate is raw; it's painful; it's vicious and it's invalid.
No matter what the outcome, my brothers and sisters are all human. We will continue on. We have each other and damn we know how to have fun. And we still have Madonna and Kylie.
But if the outcome is on the negative; haters beware. Our voice is more united than ever before. And it will be heard. We are up for the fight. We will win. Yes. 🏳️🌈 #madonna#marriageequality#equality#lgbtqi#marriagesurvey#gutlessgovernment#socialissues#socialacceptance#instagay#brisbanegay#equalityrally#australiavotes
Vote yes for love ❤️💛💚💙💜 An estimated 10,000 people came out to support equal rights for LGBTIQ+ Australians in Brisbane on Sunday. It was such an empowering day and I'm so proud to be part of such a loving community. Please make the effort to vote yes in the marriage equality survey that was sent out today and to send it back. #spreadlovenothate#loveislove #🌈 #marriageequality#lgbt#equallove#equalrights
