Through bringing awareness to the body and mind, iRest provides quiet and clarity while releasing negative emotions and thought patterns and calming the nervous system. This practice helps the practitioner develop tactics to encounter whatever life brings with more ease.
BrogaⓇ Yoga is a vinyasa-based practice that emphasizes strength and combines core-strengthening, muscle-toning, cardio-working, stress-reducing, clarity-enhancing yoga postures with functional fitness exercises. This Pop-Up class is for Men and Women and is All Levels.

BroYoga today we focused on hip and lower back. Our aim is to increase range of movement. When we are super tight this can pull our joints out of alignment and this can cause pain. Common causes for tightness can be from being in one position a lot 🤔 sitting, driving, work, home. Yo ass wasn’t meant to be flat all day. Waterman yoga is aimed at leveraging the benefits of a good and consistent yoga practice for improvement in ability in other lifestyle fields. The class is designed to strengthen and stretch both body and mind in a way that is geared towards overall improvement of performance in water sports where stamina and breath control are vital. The class focuses on elements such as stability, strength, balance, flexibility, and mental focus, all of which play crucial roles in making a well-rounded waterman. And of course, talk of the best barrels, surf adventures and the like is more than welcome. Classes are already on a Monday evening at 19h00 and on a Wednesday morning at 06h00.
To celebrate and make it official we will be hosting a launch event on Tuesday, 26 September from 6pm. Guests can look forward to an hour Waterman Yoga Class led by Chris Vlok followed by mini facials by Red Dane Skincare for men, craft beers by Jack Black's Brewing Co. and catering which will compliment the theme of the event. Spaces are limited so please book your ticket before you've missed the wave.

Who's your daddy? Tirumalai Krishnamacharya’s life and legacy is a fascinating one. At a truly young age he started living and breathing yoga. Eager to teach and pass on his knowledge to others.
Hindu tradition states a person is born at least twice. The first being their actual physical birth into this world, and a second when undergoing upanayana. Krishnamacharya underwent upanayana at age six in the late 1800’s. It is a rite of passage where a guru takes a student under his wing and accepts to work with him thereby beginning his formal education into all things related to Hinduism. This education results in the initiation of the second birth of mind and spirit. It is here where he learned to speak and write Sanskrit, and was versed in the Vedas.
Growing up Krishnamacharya practiced the yoga that his father had instilled in him from his youth, but later at age 23 he became a student of Ramamohana Brahmachari. Brahmachari was a yoga master teacher who lived in the Himalayan mountains and it was here in his cave home that Krishnamacharya lived with Brahmachari for seven years from 1911-1918. Under his guidance krishnamacharya learned therapeutic uses of yoga, the yoga sutras, 700 asanas and other various aspects of yoga. He then took the knowledge gained and taught yoga eventually to hundreds of people as “payment” to Brahmachari for the seven years of learning.
This five-foot, two-inch man with his knowledge and mastery of yoga did not go unnoticed. The Maharaja of Mysore had heard of Krishnamacharya and impressed by his demeanor and knowledge brought him to his palace. In 1924 with his support, Krishnamacharya opened a yoga school. It is to this school where some of the most famous names in Western yoga history came to study at his feet.
Krishnamacharya approach to yoga was a simple one. “Teach what is appropriate for an individual.” Based on this custom tailored way of teaching he believed that yoga could be a spiritual practice and an conduit for physical healing. When working with
