(When your a hairdresser you tend to put yourself on the back burner, im sure you know what I mean.) So we went from being a blondie (for a long time) to a nice dark caramel brown.
Just wanted to say a big Thankyou for making me feel human again and giving my hair life 😍✨💕 #hairdresserlife#brunette
Happy Heavenly Birthday to beautiful actress Gene Tierney (1920-1991) 💖💖💖. Born to an affluent family, Tierney was discovered famed director Anatole Litvak (1902-1974), while visiting her cousin in Hollywood. Her parents were vehemently opposed to her going into acting and refused to allow the test. After returning east from California, her parents softened some, but insisted she pursue theater and not film if she truly wanted to act. She initially worked on Broadway, but eventually, despite the objections of her parents, Hollywood came calling. Tierney starred in several successful films, the most famous being “Laura” (1944) (she shares her birthday with costar Clifton Webb) and “Leave Her to Heaven” (1945). Married to designer Oleg Cassini (1913-2006), she was pregnant with their first child while volunteering at the Hollywood Canteen. Tierney acquires German Measles, which lead to her daughter, Daria (1943-2010), being born deaf, partially blind, and mentally challenged. Years later she learned a female soldier who had German Measles had broken quarantine to visit the Canteen that night...especially to see Tierney, who was her favorite actress. So sad. Tierney suffered from bipolar disorder and spent years in and out of mental health facilities as she struggled to regain control of her life. She ultimately regained her balance and, while accepting the occasional character role, primarily retired to Houston, TX with her second husband, W. Howard Lee (1908-1981). She passed away in 1991, less than 2 weeks before her 71st birthday, from emphysema. She is buried in Houston with Lee, and daughters Daria and Christina (1948-2015) are interred next to her. #genetierney#happybirthday#heavenlybirthday#happyheavenlybirthday#oldhollywood#classichollywood#vintagehollywood#classicactress#vintageactress#oldhollywoodactress#classicbeauty#vintagebeauty#oldhollywoodbeauty#brunette#vintagebrunette#classicbrunette#brunettebeauty#brunettebombshell#hollywoodtragedy
