listening to a crackling fire, toasting marshmallows, gazing at the milky way, catching up with an old friend, and pouring a whole glass of wine into my camping chair when trying to clean up quickly for a passing rain storm 🤗
hoodoo you love? >>> >>> a hoodoo is a tall spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. hoodoos may range from 5 to 147 ft tall. bryce canyon is FILLED with them. we hiked down into them, amongst them, then hiked up to #inspirationpoint to see them from above. each view validated how weird they were. i loved it.
▪One of my favorite things about travelling is seeing at first hand, the beauty of Earth's evolution. Simply breathtaking...▪ #طبیعت#نفسگیر
Unique rock formations with visible iron-rich layers, at Rainbow Point, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, USA
Fact of the Day:
These hoodoo-like rocks are formed in sedimentary rock and are affected by the erosional patterns of alternating hard and softer rock layers, referred to as the Claron Formation.
I'm finally getting around to editing some of my recent adventures. This is when @watchoutwannee visited me in #beutahful and we made a quick visit to #brycecanyonnps and #zionnps ! I love show my Floridians how pretty Utah is! 😍
One of the best things about hiking are the new people you meet. I have several new friends after this week including Dawn. We gave her the trail name Lizzy because she hates lizards. She started the week as a neophyte and is now a vet. #brycecanyonnps
