Buddha hand at Tōdai-ji Buddhist temple. ..............…............................................... -„It is believed by the Tibetans that the Buddha was responsible for delivering the knowledge of medicine to the people of the world, and in fact the right hand facing outward signifies “granting a boon” (meaning, giving a blessing) to mankind. This is a common hand gesture amongst both Buddhist and Hindu statues.“ #buddhist#buddhistmus#peaceandlove#happylife#enjoylife

"Oscar Wilde said that we always destroy the thing we love the most. And it is true. The simple possibility of achieving that which we desire causes the soul of the common man to be filled with guilt. He looks around, and sees many others who have not succeeded, and so he thinks he does not deserve it. He forgets everything he overcame, all he suffered, everything he had to renounce in order to come this far. I know many people who, when they are within reach of their Personal Legend, make a series of silly mistakes and do not attain their objective - when it was just one step away." - Paulo Coelho, Warrior of the Light
you must think that i'm stupid... you must think that i'm a fool. you must think that i'm new to this, but i have seen this all before. i'm never gonna let you close to me even though you mean the most to me 'cause every time i open up, it hurts... so. i'm never gonna get too close to you even when i mean the most to you-- in case you go and leave me in the dirt. every time you hurt me, the less that i cry. every time you leave me the quicker these tears dry. every time you walk out, the less i love you. baby, we don't stand a chance; it's sad, but, it's true... i'm way too good at goodbyes.
#MuseumMonday - Thai Shadow Puppets. “Nang Yai” (shadow play/shadow puppetry) is one of Thailand’s traditional dramatic art forms that combines a number of different artistic crafts into one. This ancient art form was very popular during the reign of King U-Thong (1360-1369) and is still used today for storytelling and entertainment. All forms of puppet theatre have retained ritual elements, such as the initial prayers and offerings to the puppets. The story is narrated by songs, chants, and music, and is based on Buddhist philosophy and ideology, but the Nang also incorporate many Hindu characters and iconography. Nang Yai Puppets are made from painted cowhide parchment.
#SRJC Jesse Peter Museum's puppets were acquired by donation in 1983. .
Im at a very mentally and emotionally demanding part of my life where I'm struggling to maintain my emotional stability whilst juggling school and college and personal relationships. I feel like Im falling through the cracks most of the time and meditation seems to be the last thing on my mind. At this crossroad in my life, I find myself feeling helpless and confused, hoping for a day of peace. I must make my own peace though, I realize that now. I don't owe anyone anything and neither do you. Remember, to take time for yourself to nurture your personal journey and cut out the toxins in your life. ~With love 💕#buddhism#buddhist#meditation#relationships#selflove
