Happy Thanksgiving from The Trailhead crew! We're so thankful for all of you guys, our amazing BV community, and all of the incredible views and outdoor adventures that #BuenaVistaCO offers. What are you most thankful for this year? We hope you have the best day with friends & family. Cheers!
It’s always fun when someone has great taste and I get to help implement their vision! After searching the shops and browsing colors online, we landed on a Queenstown Gray and Java stain combo for this beautiful dresser and I know it will be stunning in their home! Swipe ➡️ for the before!
One week until #BlackFriday ! We've lined up some sweet deals for you guys, including one free date with John for every purchase of $200 or more. Stay tuned, more Black Friday deals from The Trailhead are coming your way... #GoThereStartHere#JohnSeries (John is pictured in the green jacket).
I'll be in Buena Vista, Colorado for one more day of cycling.... and then I'm headed south to Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico! This will be my first time ever cycling in the state of New Mexico and I'm really looking forward to it. Got and tips or suggestions on what I should see or where I should go?
Got my workout routine all set for tomorrow morning's low impact exercise class with oils! 💪🏻If your local to Buena Vista, CO come join me for a refreshing morning! @watershedbv 9:30 am!
Otherwise try these oils at home with your next workout:
🍃Peppermint to wake you up, uplift, energize, soothe muscles, cool body 🍋Lemon in your water to help flush those toxins out even more (sweating helps too)! 💦 🌳Balance afterwards to help get you set for the day and all that lies ahead. Grounds your emotions and helps with anxiety.
For our session with these two, we were planning to go to a different location, but when rain/snow threatened that spot, we changed the location sorta last minute and took a chance driving up a different mountain. The weather held out and instead of rain we got the softest little snow flurries. These two kept warm by running around hand in hand and being playful with each other. It was the best to not only witness, but to photograph as well. This is the stuff I love. The real life, fun, silly love. The longer we are married, the more we realize how important this type of love is. Not the idyllic romance you see in movies, but the weird and unique love that our own hearts produce. And the longer we photograph other couples, the more we want to capture that type of stuff, so when they look back in 5, 10, 20 years, they remember to be playful and lighthearted sometimes. Because these silly love squeezes now turn into early morning tickle fights and making each other laugh with your awkward dance moves when it’s been a tough week.
Long-term love isn’t easy, but it’s so rewarding and so worth it. If we can capture that part of it and have our photos be reminders of that for our couples 10 years down the road, then what a huge blessing it is to do what we do.
FIRST SNOW; a blanket of peace over my weary body. Who knew a jet lagged baby was a thing? This morning we cried together & for the first time I felt unable to comfort my sweet girl. And then, we went outside; she slept cuddled in to her Daddy, I breathed deep and thought many thankful thoughts. Amidst the lack of sleep, whacked body clocks & weirdly whingy baby, I'm so thankful for the peace snow brings, a Father who is present in every corner & this sweet family of mine. Lettin' gratitude win.
