I guess I don’t post smiling pics all that often. But, this sums up my feelings over the past couple days at @bodybuildingcom 💪 rest assured that whether I’m smiling or not, i am so stoked to be able to what I do. I love bodybuilding and I’m thankful for any opportunities that have come my way.

My new thing as of lately is taking simple workouts & movements and intensifying them!
I found out a couple weeks ago that my left hip was out of alignment & it’s probably due to a lot of things but I know for sure being physically active since 9 and not doing any physical therapy since track played a part of it and also a few years ago someone didn’t rack a weight correctly and 35 lbs fell and bounced on my right foot and took me out for 7 weeks 🙃 (learn gym safety guys) causing me to apply more pressure to my left side even after it got better - but my girl Crystal hooked me up and realigned everything (we’re working on getting her an IG lol)) & boy do I feel amazing!!! So I will be repeating this circuit today in the gym because the bands help me focus on keeping my hips engaged during my movements & these exercises focus on the glutes more than your quads because I have to chill on my quad work 🙄😒😭.
TRY THESE OUT!!! I might go live & we can do them together in an hour!

Telling someone who struggles with body image to love themselves is like telling a depressed person to stop being depressed. Easier said than done. ————————————————
I’d be lying if I said I haven’t gone back through pictures from the spokesmodel search to pick myself apart. At first i didn’t even want to post this picture because of what I perceived as “flaws”. But you know what? I told that voice to SHUTTTT THE [front door]. It’s like having an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. One telling you you’re awesome, and one telling you’re not good enough or that you’re flawed. To be honest, it took me years to even HEAR the “angel” voice come through. Today though? She was loud and clear. Today? She (I) won. Today I said SCREW the negative mindset because that is NOTTTT me, who i am, or what i believe in. SCREW what the “devil” (so to speak) perceives as flaws. I am a WHOLE damn person. I am not a series of unrelated PARTS. Today, I refuse to let the devil win and today I celebrate my WHOLE body, my WHOLE self and my BEST self. I am a person, not just a body. I have a soul and heart and a brain and THOSE make me WHOLE as well. SOOOO take ALL of me for what I am orrrr byeeee Felicia 👋🏻

Yesterday I want on a mini rant about some things I see as a coach that really bum me out. Things like caring only about a number on the scale, seeing women wish they looked like someone else, and having nothing but negative things to say about themselves. I feel like a broken record with how much I preach the following, but my message will never change and there will always be people that need to hear it. If you feel stuck right now, here’s a little reminder:
• YOU are more than a number on the scale. In fact, in most cases, this number is irrelevant and not worth a damn.
• YOU have more to offer the world than just your physical appearance. People see your confidence, intelligence, and determination long before they see your physical shape and size.
• There is more to life than trying to be as small or lean as possible. What’s cooler than being lean? Literally everything ever.
• STOP comparing yourself to others and making them your “goals”. Comparison truly is the thief of all joy. Make being YOUR best self your goal.
• If you don’t get your shit together and start loving yourself the way you are, don’t ever expect to make a single positive change - mentally or physically.

5 ways to grow your glutes FASTER:
.
1) Program according to your needs. This means, not doing or avoiding exercises because you think you should. Your program and training should be 100% specific to you.
.
2) Undulate the rep range that you’re working in. Working for 15-20 reps every workout is not king. Neither is floating in the 4-6 rep range. .
3) Work in an RPE of 8-9. Rep range LITERALLY means nothing if your RPE is shit.
.
4) Don’t undereat. Growth takes time. You can “bulk” for a few weeks and think you’re going to build. Commit to the bulk.
.
5) Incorporate paused reps, eccentrics, AMRAPS, and drop sets as needed. Too many times people use a the excuse that a weight is too heavy to incorpate. Well it should be heavy. It should make you think it’s heavy. If it’s not challenging, you’re basically going through the motions. Even lifts at 50% 1RM can be made difficult. There are so many ways to challenge yourself with light to moderate weight. It’s up to you if you want to.

I’d be lying if I said I’ve never worried about what people think of me. In the past, I’ve really questioned making certain instagram posts for “fear” of being judged, looked at as being self-absorbed, or annoying people with another similar fitness/selfie picture. What you don’t see with all of my photos is how much i’ve struggled internally yet how freaking far I’ve come mentally. And I owe a lot of that growth to my hard intentional work and by also putting faith in Jesus. I genuinely enjoy posting the journey towards my best self and personal growth, so that I can continue to look back and see how far I come. So that I can show others that if a small town girl like me can make steps towards becoming who she wants to be, then so can any one of you. Self love is not at all self-absorbed y’all, it’s actually necessary. It took me a hell of a long time to learn to love myself, I no longer have that kind of time to convince someone else. Yesterday I want on a mini rant about some things I see as a coach that really bum me out. Things like caring only about a number on the scale, seeing women wish they looked like someone else, and having nothing but negative things to say about themselves. I feel like a broken record with how much I preach the following, but my message will never change and there will always be people that need to hear it. If you feel stuck right now, here’s a little reminder:
• YOU are more than a number on the scale. In fact, in most cases, this number is irrelevant and not worth a damn.
• YOU have more to offer the world than just your physical appearance. People see your confidence, intelligence, and determination long before they see your physical shape and size.
• There is more to life than trying to be as small or lean as possible. What’s cooler than being lean? Literally everything ever.
• STOP comparing yourself to others and making them your “goals”. Comparison truly is the thief of all joy. Make being YOUR best self your goal.
• If you don’t get your shit together and start loving yourself the way you are, don’t ever expect to make a single positive change - mentally or physically.

Day #2 of #possiblepushups 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I am LOVING all of the participation for this challenge!!!!! Connecting with others through our individual fitness journeys is something I have legit missed out on as I took a little hiatus from IG. It is such a beautiful thing to not compare your journey to someone else’s journey but rather celebrate together that we are on the fitness path doing our thing, no matter where we are at. ❤️💪🏼❤️ These were not easy for me tonight (as you can tell)!!! I’m trying to critique my form and get better as I get stronger. I find that my head/neck often dips down too low rather than remaining in line with my body as it should. Trying to work on that! Keep it up all you challengers! Invite anyone to do this with us! Jump right in and start on day 1 with 10 push-ups at your fitness level!

Day #3 - 20 push-ups! They do not have to be consecutive...just get 20 done however you need to get them done. Modified on the knees or doing back flips in between...I don’t care. The point is to get stronger and start where you are. The only way to get stronger is to DO IT. 😊💪🏼
