This is probably my favorite image from that day.
Seeing the smiles on Jordan's and his grandfather's face as he tells him the story of his hunt and thanking him for letting him have the opportunity to hunt - these are the moments that make this sport amazing.
If this doesn't expound on the examples of why I get up and do this, I'm uncertain anything has the potential to.
Heads on swivels, involuntary laughter, and triple threat stances. Oh, and don't forget the wrenches. You always need some wrenches. We did that day. It hardly communicates it all, but it sure is a solid candidate for those thousand words we always hear about.
This year I set out to kill a specific buck. A buck I nicknamed “Peterbilt”. After passing him at 2,3 and 4 years old the anticipation was extremely high going into this summer as I was hopeful he would be a giant. First laying eyes on him this summer I knew he would be my #1 target buck. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the one to arrow him but a neighboring bowhunter. A neighboring bowhunter that chooses to bowhunter during Missouri’s Rifle Season. Nothing against anyone that chooses to hunt with a gun but I have mad respect for someone that chooses to only bowhunt. Also someone who sets out to kill a buck 5.5 years or older. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t let the wind out of my sail hearing about someone else tagging him and not me. However, I have a lot of respect for the neighbor that got him. Congratulations on a unique and incredible buck! Swipe right to see him from 5.5 years old all the way down to 2.5. #bowonly#missouri#whitetail#builtforthewild#seewhatyouvebeenmissing#newbreedofhunter

It sucks that all the good snow we have received over the past month is getting ruined by a week of rain. Hopefully it makes a nice base for the rest of the season... Here is #andreworlich testing the goods this past Saturday.
@derekbnelson - "My longest-standing bucket list item got crossed off this week in Montana. Hunting these animals is more incredible than I had ever imagined.
Huge shouts out to my good buddy/guide/photographer @brettsengphoto. Thanks for keeping me alive. Couldn't have done it without you.” #MathewsHalon#sickforit#builtforthewild#diverge6
Hunting over a decoy can be a challenging task. Wind has to be perfect, human scent has to be eliminated, buck scent has to be applied, and a deer has to cooperate. If it all works out, it can be the most exciting way of bowhunting there is. #decoy#hardcore#buck#rut @hardcorebrands @sitkagear
