Dinner tonight was the kiddos new fav - wholemeal pasta with tuna, parsley, olives, lemon zest, olive oil and a dukkah-inspired crumb (toasted breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, fennel & thyme). Sounds fancy af but seriously so easy, cheap and made with ingredients you probably have lying around. I'm really not into weeknight cooking so this sort of meal is perfect for those nights when you cbf, have nothing in the fridge but feel more deserving than just toast. 💁
Some days, I think I have it all under control. When other days, like today, every decision to eat something overwhelmed me and spun my brain all kinds of cray.
Food fear for me is a really big deal - especially when I’m currently having the biggest acne blow out of my life. All I wonder is “omg, is it the gluten causing this?” - when maybe it is and maybe it isn’t. .
But I have to believe that my very heightened levels of stress as I deal with my Orthorexic recovery (primarily revolving around gluten) has a bigger part to play. Increased stress ➡️ Increased cortisol ➡️ Acne breakouts
I’m going to a. wake up a few min earlier tomorrow and try to meditate some using @headspace - has anyone else used this before? Thoughts? Any other better methods you’ve tried? .
And b. keep my face clean and be more regular with retin-A to keep things moving along🤞🏼. Wish me luck!

Bonsoir Insta Fam! Happy Wednesday evening! Tonight, I opted for something vibrant, colourful & quite easy to make. Ever heard of “Protein Power Bowls”🤔?? I made a vegan 🌱 version tonight and it took me about 15 mins from start to finish because I precooked my Farro, beans, chickpeas & steamed some carrots before leaving the house this morning (⏰🙌🏽😍)
So, ingredients used included:
- 2 cups of Farro,
-1 Big red onion, 2 garlic cloves minced,
-1/3 cup of sundried tomatoes,
-1/4 cup of Kale,
-1 cup of red kidney beans, 1 cup of white kidney beans, 2 cups of chickpeas ( Did I mention “Protein Power Bowl anywhere?🤔😉😊💪🏾)
-1/4 cup of capers,
- 1/3 cup of mushrooms,
- 1 tsp of dill,
-4 tbsp of Olive oil,
-4 tbsp of balsamic vinegar,
-1 tsp of buckwheat honey,
-Salt & pepper to taste,
- some nutritional yeast (optional)
As for the directions, I only had to lightly sauté my onions, garlic, mushrooms, carrots & beans for a few minutes...👉🏽added some balsamic vinegar,honey, Farro,dill, Kale, salt & pepper👉🏽Topped my Farro bowl with capers, sundried tomatoes & nutritional yeast ( I like that “cheesy effect😍😉) Et Voilà! Le dîner est servi!!💁🏾🍲👩🏾🍳...Rapide (Fast) & Délicieux!!😋😋

as i reminisce on wedding photos from almost an entire year ago at the end of the month, i think about all the love that was that day ❤️ no, i don't think back on whether or not i was "in the best shape of my life", how "fit" i was, or "how good i looked in my dress". things that forsure preoccupied my thoughts before that day. but that's the thing about a wedding day you guys (and all of life)... it just simply DOES NOT MATTER. what does matter is two becoming one. promising to another human being that you are going to be there, no matter what. Decided to get creative with leftovers tonight and came up with these Bacon Spaghetti Squash Fritters 🙌 I mixed leftover squash (after squeezing excess water out) with crispy bacon pieces, almond flour, 2 eggs, fresh sage, thyme, red pepper flakes, onion, garlic, s+p and fried them in @primalkitchenfoods avocado oil for 4 mins each side, then topped with some lactose free sour cream. Will definitely be making these again with any leftover veggies I have! So good 🍳

I don’t usually mind the rain, but this is more like buckets of water dumping from the sky 😖 My salad consists of greens, quinoa, roasted chickpeas, peas, and roasted zucchini and squash. As I’ve peeled back the layers of my life these past few years, I’ve realized I’ve devoted far too much energy to the latter. Fear of failure (aka shame/poverty). “Earning” external validation & approval. Misguided attempts to be thinner, more successful, more accomplished, more loved. To say that pursuing these things sucked the life out of me is an understatement. 🙅🏼
The collision of health issues, family crisis & career stress pushed me to a breaking point that forced me to realize the value of spending more time standing in our power, doing things that bring us joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. There is so much we can’t control in our lives, but we can control what we devote our energy to. Shifting gears to joy, fulfillment, purpose- things w/intangible benefits that can’t be quantified- does not come naturally or easy for many of us. But doing so is a form of self love, self acceptance and a celebration of who you are at your core and therefore worth more than almost anything. 😊
One of my biggest hopes for all my girls and women out there is that they don’t let their mental & physical health deteriorate before they see the value in 👆🏻. What if we all taught one young girl the importance of investing time & energy in the things that give us health, happiness, strength, power, joy, wisdom, fulfillment, purpose? What if we SHOWED them how good life can be if we stop feeding the darkness and step into the light? led by example? That’s what I aspire to do. Long way to go, but werkin on it. Today marks a total of 8 years spent with one of the best humans I’ve ever known. We’d been friends for a few months, so when he asked me to go see a movie with him, I honestly wasn’t sure if it was a date or not. To be safe, I told myself it was just a couple of friends hanging out, going to see a movie together NBD, and I went to dinner with a few friends beforehand. So when he called during dinner and sounded super surprised that I was eating with friends, it was because he’d actually planned on taking me to dinner, but forgot to mention it to me… 🤦🏻♀️ Thankfully, our communication skills have drastically improved since then. 😂🙏🏼

That color though 👆🏻 nailed it! I love this fall ginger turmeric combo with some @siggisdairy & @bumblerootfoods hydration mix. I just discovered these mixes and am a big fan 👍🏻. They're a great alternative to sugary sports drinks or a good way to add some flavor to your water.
FAT & GREENZ🌿 ?!? You're probably wondering why fat and vegetables are a great combo. Well, I'm about to BLOW your mind. You actually get better absorption of most VITAMINS when you pair your veggies with GOOD FAT. (Olive oil, avocado oil etc.) So stop fearing fat, you NEED it. Upgrade your veggies and add some olive oil to top off a healthy dish. (Remember to never cook with olive oil because it's delicate and will become carcinogenic when heated at high temps!)
