Every day I'm makin' lists ✍ I've gotten into a good rhythm recently of managing my time + working on projects. I'm realising I don't have to sacrifice everything to get the work done. Now if only I could work on my nightly scrolling habit 📱🙈 #bloggerlife#smallbizlife
"Do you have friends? Do you have family? I think that is the perfect place to start. Treat THEM like they matter. Because you know what? They do. Start there. Start with your community. Change the world around yourself first." - @kellenmoore

Do you have any books to recommend me? Cause I've got a bunch to recommend to you! Published on my blog today is a post where I share the 5 books that I think every business woman should read. There's a big mix of styles and points of view in there, but they're all books that I feel I've taken a lot from.

PROCRASTIPAINTING // Stormy base layer. I am so pleased I discovered that I like to paint, it's another self-care notch and I don't even care whether I'm any good - a revelation in itself. It's fun not thinking (the only time my brain seems to be quiet is when I'm painting) and just letting the paint run amok. And I say I'm procrastipainting but I'm not really, I've written 6,000 words of my book thus far.
Thankful for some time away surrounded by family that I haven't gotten to see in a long time. We danced in the rain, adventured around, ate a lot, and ran wild. But I think I'm ready to get back to hubs and my routine. #denverbound

Can I get real for a sec? Also, why do I always feel like I need to start my caption that way when I’m bearing my heart to you guys? Idk. 🤷🏻♀️
This whole working from home thing is hard! It takes self-discipline, integrity, and, well, weirdness.
It’s a whole lot of “Yes! I freaking love this!” and “Omg am I doing anything right?” You talk to yourself (or your instagram story) because, you’re often working alone for hours on end.
But then you get the whole staying in your pajamas for as long as you want, or checking off your to-do list at a new coffee shop you’ve been wanting to try.
All that is to say, life is hard, and life is good. I’m learning every day that it really isn’t about working from home, being new, (insert your current situation), at all. It’s the deeper habit of seeking daily joy and realizing that the Lord paved the road for you to arrive exactly where you are. And that’s freaking cool! What’s something you’ve been learning lately?
It's monday and I'm in a super productive mood ! Usually it's the complete opposite for most of us but I am ready to go! I had a relaxing morning of doing nothing 😂 now I'm on a cleaning spree and soon I'll be on to my math homework. After that I'll write my blog post for tomorrow. ❔ What are you guys working on today ?!? #productivitybabes 📸@stopplervirtualcommunications
Not your average #ringshot 💍
Sometimes it comes in the form of an intimate, chilled out lifestyle session in the home of your AMAZING clients and their brand new baby 👶🏼😍
Just delivered this gallery today and fell in love with it all over again while putting the finishing touches on each image.
Did I mention how much I LOVE my clients?! 🙌🏻
This morning I finished @theashleygraham's "A New Model" and found myself nodding my head. God took the time to give me confirmation through Graham's words with statements about the power of strong women coming together, about being good enough right now to make whatever you and I want to achieve possible. I thank Graham for telling her story and being the reassurance that the moves I'm making behind the scenes are needed. I thank God for showing me how to give myself grace as not only a boss lady, but as a woman with hips and thighs and a voice, with brains to back it all up. I thank God that he is piling on the pressure and waking me at all hours because there are things He needs from me, things I have to sow and nurture before these roots of mine take hold. Things that make me nervous and excited and give way to my incessant foot tapping all over again. Things that the DOY ladies are discussing but that I haven't divulged to the people outside our sisterhood, yet. And while all of that places a new excited-kind-of-fear inside me, I continue to give God my life daily and have unwavering faith in all He is, all He does. /// "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6.
Hey There! I hope you all had a much better weekend than I did. I've been extra stressed today because the AC at my house went out on Friday. We stayed at my parents-in-law's house all weekend (so nice of them!) because our dog was going crazy without AC. We finally had someone come out to the house today and it looks like we are going to have to replace the whole unit. 🙄Ughhhh! #notinthebudget •
Anyways, I'm still getting as much done as possible, checking things off the to-do-list before I head back to the lovely AC at my parents-in-law's place. What's the one thing that you want to check off your to-list today? ✔️For me, it's creating some pretty icons for a page that's coming soon to my website. 🖥
Leadership is an awesome thing, but we have to remember that we can't pour from an empty well.
As we lead others, we have to make sure that we take the time to take care of ourselves. Though we act like superheroes, we do have weakness. We need rest. We have to take the time to refuel. We have to unplug from the world and plug into God. He's our power source.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reads, "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
This scripture reminds us that God paid a high price for us and we must honor Him in our body. We do this by taking care of ourselves. We are not machines. We must take care of ourselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. Taking care of ourselves keeps us in the best possible position to take care of others.
Think about it….How can you give people the word and tell them what thus says they Lord when you never spend time with Him to hear what He has to say?
How can you help someone break free from bondage if you're still bound? How can you help someone lose weight when you can't help yourself do it? How can you teach someone to save money when you can't spend respinsibly? YOU CAN'T!
It's not rocket science. It's common sense. You have to take care of yourself in order to take care of others. God doesn't want us run down and weary. That's a trick of the enemy. God was us refreshed, renewed, and lit for Him. More importantly, He wants us to have a relationship with Him so that we can rest in Him and He can help us take care of ourselves.
Self care shows that you love yourself and loving yourself is necessary for leadership. Loving God and loving yourself helps you love those you serve. Leadership is service. Remember, even God rested after He created the world and all that dwell within in. If God can rest, why can't you?
You better learn how to do just that. Whether is quiet time alone, or spending time with those you love, take the time to love on yourself. You'll be a better person and leader because of it. 💜
