I recently listened to a podcast with Dr. Timothy Morton about his theory of Dark Ecology and was inspired. In my mind, its correlation to communication is so evident. For those of you who are familiar with this theory, what do you think about it? How do you think storytelling should evolve to foster a sense of interconnectedness?
... and with that I’ll look back on this past week with a full heart. A road trip filled with family, epic views, small towns, roads instead of interstates, bison, elk, pronghorns, mule deer and plenty of laughs. ✌🏼 out.
Let the packing begin! Heading off for my Montana, Wyoming & Colorado road trip in t-minus 48 hours. 🏔

Dry bed branch of Clear Creek. A large island is formed here that made me smile to imagine it as the island in the stream where Molly and her Virginian made camp on their honeymoon. Just maybe Owen Wister discovered this very spot while writing The Virginian here in Buffalo. :)
Milkweed pods opening up along Clear Creek. It made me so happy to find these as they are prolific in the Midwest where I grew up, and are much more rare here. I brought a few seedlings home to scatter near the house. :)
Changed my perspective for a bit today. Hiked up nearly to the ridge line of my property. Was looking for a view of my back orchard. Found a collection of cans from the 70’s, a wagon or car with a steel frame but wood wheel spokes, and game trails that I hope will eventually lead by switch back a way to the top. #thisistensleep#thatswy#callofthewy#tsrockranch
