Last question: What will miss most when you return to go home? •
As my study abroad adventure comes to an end, I felt that this would be a fitting question to answer. I am going to miss the people. I will miss all the friends I made in my study abroad group, who I thankfully will get to see back at Cal Poly. But sadly I won't be able to see all the amazing people who live here and in Cambodia back home. This country has is filled with some of the kindest and friendly people I've ever met. When small encounters can filled with so much joy and meaning, that's something rare to find back home. People in the pictures are Nong and Sam, our amazing northern Thailand guides, On who just a couple of days ago opened up a shop for her paintings right next to her booth in the night market, Mister T our hilarious Cambodian tour guide, Mai who literally makes the best rotee in Chiang Mai, a little boy in Cambodia who I did not catch the name of but is one of the many children there who touched our hearts, Nui who helped me cook Thai food, one of the monks during our Buddhist retreat and his dog who is purple because of flea treatment, In my Eco village mom, and Woody our awesome Bangkok tour guide. There's so many more people I wish I could've included if I had taken their photos and Instagram allowed more than 10 pictures. But I've appreciated the conversations I've had with people and letting me learn more about their lives and teaching me Thai too. To go somewhere that is apart of my heritage and have it feel like home is a big deal that I wasn't sure was going to happen. It may be goodbye for now but not forever. 📷: @aesthetic_amber
Step out of that comfort zone! Go to that yoga class, say hi to someone you don't know, speak up when that little voice in your head says to be quiet. Do one thing today that takes you out of your comfort zone!
Well it's official... After taking two years off from school to work, and now having a million and one hoops to jump through to get back, I have officially been readmitted to Cal Poly to finish the last couple classes I need for my degree! Super stoked to finally be in a good place mentally and financially to be able to go back to school with confidence. And what's even better, I can still work full time at a job I absolutely adore! So excited for my future, and so thankful for the people who have pushed me in the right direction!! #FinishingSchool#CalPoly#AlmostThere#MovingOnUp

"Do what makes you happy" was the advice Marek received from his parents throughout life. A form of guidance that left him with the responsibility to find his own way. The son of two doctors, Marek always believed that medicine was in his future until he realized in college that his heart wasn't in it.
With a degree in BioChemistry and a Masters in Education, Marek found himself where so many of us have, in the sea of life's unknown. So he did what any smart college grad would do who didn't have a career path. He packed up and moved west.
Boulder, Colorado became his new home and like most people who move to this mecca of physical activity, Marek found himself immersed in the triathlon community. He was no stranger to multi-sport or competition having been a swimmer from the age of six and a previous triathlon finisher. As his training intensified and his dedication to the sport grew, Marek started racing as an elite triathlete. It was during this time that his purpose started to show up.

A solar eclipse will be visible today across North America! Remember to NEVER look directly at the sun, even if it is partially covered, unless you have approved solar filters on (not sunglasses). If you are in the path of totality (lucky you) you may remove your eye protection once the sun is completely covered. Stay safe and have fun! #eclipse2017#eclipsesafety

SWE spotlight: Angela Wong! Angela is our VP of Member Relations this year. •••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Instead of saying 'I did it', SWE has shifted my focus to 'WE did it.' As a member of the Society of Women Engineers, I've gained a huge sense of gratification knowing that we as officers and members collectively plan events and volunteer to inspire a new generation of young female engineers."
Brothers Owens and Ojeda spent the last few days representing Kappa Mu at Grand Chapter Congress in New Orleans. In addition to taking home 4 awards for our chapter, they also got to network with other chapters and meet our new Regional Vice President, Ello Johns. We can't wait to hear all they learned!
Find your place to belong!
We're looking forward to coming together, worshipping God, hearing from Him and making new friends.
