Emaciated dog brought to #Surrey shelter now healthy and up for adoption. Eclipse came into the Surrey Resource Animal Shelter last summer in skeletal, calloused condition. For more on the story, check out the link in the bio.
We won't be surprised if you tell us that you're a fan of the double decker bus that #TransLink rolled out recently. They have been getting rave reviews. For more, check out the story on our site. Link in the bio.
Rocky Mountain Preview #2 ⠀
We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to give you a taste of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. So far I've been posting images from the west coast of my cross-Canada trip, but it's nice to have some variety, and the cold winter nights here in Ontario are reminding me of the mountains.
As a result of the poll I did earlier today (thanks to everyone who voted!) I will be sharing more of the Rockies in the future, even as the cross-Canada recap continues. I have a LOT of mountain photos.
This is Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park. Because only the lodge shuttle is allowed vehicular access to this area, and because tickets are notoriously difficult to acquire, the only way to get here without planning 6 months in advance is to hike up the boring 11km road. Uphill all the way. Which I did at night, because the Northern Lights were amazing and I wanted to get something special. I think it was worth it.⠀
Thank you to @oilfighter for egging me on, though I don't think he thought I was serious about it. I needed a push from an external source that night - the walk was very long and I risked missing the best part of the Aurora while trudging up the boring access road, so it would have been easy to go somewhere more accessible. For once the effort paid off.⠀
