Cleanse time!! 💚🤗 Here is my lunch for the next 5 days. 3.5 24-oz (3 cup) mason jars of #GAPS Intro-approved organic chicken & vegetable soup! My digestion has been feeling sluggish lately, so I’m taking this time to do a mini cleanse as I ease in to Full GAPS-style, #grainfree , whole foods eating, still keeping it high in plants (duh)! 🙌🏼
For the next week I’ll be having only a fresh-pressed juice or smoothie🍹 for breakfast, soup🥣 for lunch, and steamed/sautéed veggies & easy-to-digest protein for dinner🍽. The hardest part will be giving up the chocolate (yes, chocolate is my vice)😫🍫, as well as nuts and dried fruits for now. Keeping it so so simple and gentle for my system!
Every part of this soup down to the bone broth is homemade by me, and it was surprisingly MUCH easier than I had imagined to make a delicious-tasting stock & soup. I combined a couple of different recipes, along with my Mom’s expertise. 😉 Basic recipe will be in my next post! 😊
This is me right now. The dry patch is almost gone and I am so happy! Finally! I had to work today, so had to put on some make up. But since my skin isn’t dry anymore, my make up is amazing. I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s a bit scary that I didn’t have any side effects for days.. even my skin isn’t dry or red. 🙏🏼 Did anyone else experienced this?

Day 78: Candida Cleanse
No foodie pics, I’ve been busy focusing on just putting one foot in front of the other...easy meals, taking my supplements and getting a little exercise ➕ not being tempted by the kids ‘back to school’ oat bars - sounds easy enough, right?!
I’m now on Stage 2 of my Candida cleanse - after my first 6 weeks of no fruit, I’m now introducing blueberries, but cutting out nuts (I did have a slight dependency on nut butter)

OK, so I talked about Juice Plus and probiotics in my previous posts.
But one of the things that I couldn’t understand was why I was craving sugar, fat, and salt SO much especially sugar. It seemed almost impossible to cut those out of my diet. I considered myself a sugar addict. What I didn’t know was that there was actually really strong reason WHY my cravings for sugar and refined carbs was SO strong.
I learned about something that I call the CANDIDA MONSTER in a presentation by Dr. Amy Lee Who is incredibly knowledgeable about the digestive system. Candida is essentially a nasty fungus that lives in your intestine and feeds off of sugar and refined carbs. The Candida monster wants to be fed those things! Candida imbalance can make you feel fatigued, sluggish, irritable, moody, cause abdominal pains and bloating, brain fog, sinus infection and more. In more severe cases can even cause fungal infections in the mouth, fingernails, skin, blood, as well as produce chronic yeast infections in women. YEP 😳 GROSS, I know. But luckily I learned a way to combat this ugly monster and take away a lot of its power. I learned about the “Candida cleanse”. It is easy and inexpensive.
It is healthy to have some candida present in the body but for many people the monster is out of control!

I chose to do the Candida liquid cleanse which consists of making a vegetable broth out of garlic, onions, kale, celery and sea salt. My next post will be a “how-to” make the broth. I still have my cough but I stumbled upon an amazing Chinese place and this soup, which I have had every day since! It calms my chest, warms the body and heals ailments. Always, always, always include as many soups made with a good homemade base as much as you can. They can help to dramatically improve recovery 🍲 Bone broth is really good for leaky gut and IBS repair 🍲 .

Last night @taylor_lovee e and I made the Paleo Eggplant Lasagna from my blog — one of my all time faves and always a crowd-pleaser! There’s something about eggplant with cashew cheese that always hits the spot. We used Rao’s Marinara for the sauce because the ingredients are GREAT — it’s the perfect option from the store if you don’t want to make your own marinara. And this meal was @dylanjamespeterson approved, so you know it was a total success.
