When I was at university in New Zealand, I lived at the international house where a bunch of us would perform every Tuesday night at a place called backstage. It was a time for us as people from different countries to connect over our common love for music, and to cheer each other on, irrespective of talent level. For me, that phase of life was life changing, since I was learning to come out of a shell I had been under for years. I felt supported by my friends and I had an outlet to express myself. Here I am , nervous as hell, but also pushing myself out of a comfort zone. It was empowering and liberating. What makes you fearful? What would it mean to you to come out of your comfort zone? Do you care what people think of you? What feels like freedom to you?
