I took my big girl camera to @longwoodgardens today. I’m so ready for spring. Enjoyed the warmth of the conservatory and the beauty of the orchid display there. Took a few photographs of my favorite floral beauties.
Day 20 of an Unknown Number
Today's image came to me when nothing else would. I had planned to backlight an orange peel being squeezed (revealing the squirts of citric acid), but that is easier said than done. Going slightly out of my mind, I found this tiny gourd. Knowing that simply photographing a minuscule pumpkin would not be very interesting, I decided to play around a bit with it. This is a multiple exposure of focus racking. That is to say, during the first exposure I was focused on the back side of the vegetable. For the second exposure, I focused on the stem. Lastly, I focused on the near top edge for the final exposure. My lighting was a strip light, tilted horizontally, just above the pumpkin. Because I used a macro lens for the image, the change in focus is very noticeable. Because of the way in which a macro lens works (and distorts), with each focal adjustment, the lens sees vastly different images, though the lens has not moved. Since each frame was strobed, the previous frame is not only blurred, but also slightly ghosted. That is a poor explanation, and it is late. Thanks for stopping in!! #gourd#pumpkin#food#foodphotography#canon5dmarkIII#pocketwizard#paulcbuffinc#paulcbuffeinstein#multipleexposure#rackfocus
Today I went to Mill Ave for a couples session and fell in love with this sign. Isn't it the best thing you've ever seen? I'm still getting the pics of my couple ready but I can't wait to share them with you!
