I remember when I used to have an “all or nothing” mindset of where – if I can’t do 110%, then why would I do anything.🤦🏽‍♀️Which lead me to being 20 pounds overweight and frustrated with why nothing was working for me. Overtime and with a giant mental shift, I realized that nothing will ever come from my “all or nothing” mindset. So I started being proud of myself for the little things like doing a yoga workout or taking a 20 minute walk instead of sitting my butt on the couch and watching Netflix all day feeling sorry for myself.🏃🏽‍♀️When I started needing to take a little breather because of my knee, it was hard at first but now I’m remembering that “all or nothing” is never going to get me to my goals – so que my modification game😉Sharing four of my favorites from today’s workout and truuuuust that I was sweating my butt off still by the end😅#happybalancedlife

Don’t get me wrong....I am SO lucky to be at home with Asher and I do not take that for granted at all! .
But sometimes, you can’t help but want to “tap out of this one!” 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m human! .
Between trying to do every fun, festive thing possible, running a dayhome AND entrepreneuring...all while being in the season where I feel the loss of my mom most....I let myself get a little lost in it all! .
And when this anxious mama starts getting lost in it all...she gets emotional. Let’s just say that losing 20 stamps I had just bought sent me right over the edge. We are now referring to it as #stampgate 😂😂😂

I admitted my bad self care practices...and my amazing MIL and FIL stepped in immediately to give me a little break yesterday. All I needed was a little help! .

Anyway...this week? I’ll be focusing on what Christmas is about...the reason for the season... and enjoying the moments with family and friends, but also reaching out when it gets crazy!! .
But you better believe I will be hustling on the side, because one of the best solutions to my problem? A hubby that sleeps at home every night! .
And so this mama has some big goals! .

As we head deeper into the Christmas season life gets hectic if you don’t make time to get your workout in you won’t find the time. This is such a busy season that any extra time get sucked up by anything and everything else. Also making time to plan your meals if you don’t make time to plan this out you will eat whatever’s around or eat out. And this time of year there tends to be more sweets and more Temptations. This week I have two parties and I plan to enjoy myself at both of those parties but that doesn’t give me permission to derail for the rest of the week. Michael going until December was two at bare minimum maintain my weight through the holidays. So far I’m even down a couple pounds. And not once have I felt like I’ve been deprived or had to go without. I have indulged when it was appropriate I have gone out to eat with my spouse and made good choices. And I haven’t missed a work out and I don’t plan to. 
Today was a cardio day. Workout was done for time I finished in 22:43 
1/10, 2/9, 3/8...9/2, 10/1

It seems like a very often get off course at some point whether it’s an illness or just running out of time. However I have managed my time better this year I have all of my presents wrapped. I have my food ordered and ready to be picked up later this week. And have just overall made better choices. We all have the same 24 hours in a day what you choose to do with those is up to you. It’s Christmas Week!!!!🎅🎄I’ll admit, I didn’t want to get out of my warm comfy bed this morning even though I actually woke up before my 5am alarm😱{I know, right?} but it’s Christmas week and I’m making this fun, but sometimes stressful week a less stressful this morning by plugging in to my meditation group and setting the intention for an amazing week!✨
There’s ❄️in the forecast at the end of the week that I could let start to get me anxious for messy commutes and our holiday travel but instead, I’m going to breathe it out and set the intention of how I want my week to go instead of just letting it control how I feel.🙌🏼Once you learn you are in control of everything that happens to you and your life the more you realize your power. You know the feeling....take a pic, and since your husband knows you he takes about 67 of them. You take a look at them. My reaction? IMMEDIATE heart drop.

I was always so surprised when I saw pictures of myself. And this would lead to an instant bad mood and probably some crappy eating.

Today was the last day of week one of my running program (it has me running 3 days a week). Today was just an “easy” 4 miles. I was supposed to be at a 10:30-11:30 pace but I feel like I ended around 9:15ish. We have to put a big asterisk next to this run because my phone died with about a half mile to go, so I was unable to get an accurate distance/time reading. Thankfully I had my watch timer going and I finished my 4 miles at around 36 minutes. That was about a minute faster than my last 4 mike run! I’m definitely seeing improvement but I still have a ways to go. Oh yeah and @mwsilverstein was there but left me in the dust so I didn’t get a pic with him 😂. #outworkdajuan -

Wanna know what I did today, besides studying my butt off (which is a whole other post - ugh!)??? It was a 120 minute workout kinda day - yep, you read that right, 2 hours.  Why in the world would you do that to yourself??? Simple, because I can.  I've always been fairly healthy, shoot until 11 months ago I would have told you I was a healthy human - jeez or peaso was I wrong!

I've been asked what I do now for my workouts, so I thought I'd give you the scoop - with the caveat, that this is what works for ME and I have reasons as to why I do this.  And cardio is hardio y'all...I mean sometimes gasping for breath hard!  Grace is something I've had to learn to grant myself during the last 2 months.

Working out isn't your thing?? That's okay, take a read anyways, maybe you'll change your mind.  If you've been blessed enough to have a healthy body, unlike some, don't waste it, you never know when you might need it.  The last thing I saw coming was a cancer diagnosis...thank goodness I was in decent shape, I don't want to know how much harder this whole thing would have been had I not been.

My routine varies from yoga at @bluebirdyoga , to a workout from @beachbody to walking, or most recently hopping on my @onepeloton bike, which has been life changing!  Today was yoga, 21 Day Fix and an 80's ride (OMG, it was KILLER!). If you have any questions on any of these, hit me up!

All I ask is that you try --- try to be the best you, you can be, for YOU!  I don't really have a choice any more...my life kinda depends on it, don't wait until yours does as well.
