A digital drawing representing the theme/message of the novel, 'A Journey around My Room', which was written by Xavier De Maistre - an activity for a novel studies folio we had to do in English class. Swipe to view the drawing without colour or other further adjustments.
I'm not sure how well I conveyed it, but the theme of this novel (in summary) was that you can turn any simple, everyday object/convention into an amazing, awe-inspiring experience/journey, simply with a little imagination. This is hence why on the left side of the picture, I illustrated objects apart of a typical bedroom environment "equalling" features that'd be apart of contrastingly exotic environments (on the right side). What I drew in the middle, of course, is meant to be a young, cartoonish-ly drawn version of the author (Xavier De Maistre) of whom didn't have a lot of existing photographs to use as references. For some reason, I drew him (or at least tried to) in a sort-of anime style, despite that not being something I do too often. As to why the drawing looks a little bare and messy, I didn't have the time to thoroughly polish all the outlines and colours and, while I could adjust them now that I have the time, I don't really have the interest or need to do so on this particular piece. I also felt this piece factored in what ended up being more than what was expected in our folio (assignment) anyway, so I'm satisfied with just leaving it as it is.
