Lots of questions about the red bracelet I wear all the time.
Here's the story...
Over the summer, I injured my wrist pretty bad. I don't go to the doctor, but my wife made me go... plus it was really impeding my workouts. Well the doctor said all I had to do was wear a brace for a week or two. But after several weeks of "healing", it seemed to get worse. After a month, I figured I'd try my way and start using my wrist to build muscle again. I hadn't worked out in over a month because it hurt so bad, so I slowly tried lifting again. I couldn't even curl 10lbs without excruciating pain.
I knew I needed to lift. I needed to use my arms, hands, and wrist to build muscle around the injury. So I got online to look for some good wrist wraps. Right around that time, YouTuber, @furiouspete, had just made a video talking about the @furiousapparel Wrist Wraps.
Hoping I made the right decision to start exercising with an injured wrist, I purchased the wrist wraps and got the package a couple days later.
When I opened up the box, it had some typical sticker swag. Then I saw a red bracelet. The bracelet had "d4L" on it (Dedicated for Life). Feeling motivated, I threw down some preworkout and got going.
A couple weeks of working out using the wrist wraps and my injured wrist healed 100%!
Getting motivated is something anyone can do. It's temporary. Being dedicated is having discipline to do what needs to be done and never giving up no matter how hard it gets.
Obviously, there are some injuries that actually require rest to heal, but I saw a great message in what happened. In life, there are too many people out there that give up too easy whenever something doesn't go there way or as soon as it gets a little hard.
The bracelet is my reminder to be dedicated, be disciplined, and never quit.
Be dedicated for life.
I can quit anytime I want! You're not my supervisor!
Finally have what I think are "keeper" configurations for my three @phlster Flexes.
The one with the pink Dark Star Gear is my primary, with knife and TQ.
The one with the Classic mimics the function of the other, but allows for carrying a reload or (?) in the SET, and with the back mounted TenSpeed gives me front real estate for adding other stuff if I want to.
The one with the blue Skeleton is a sort of "multi-mission" rig, in which I can put medical supplies, carbine mags, or carriers for the Aridus side saddle.
Now that I've got these configured I can finally finish my promised video... 😌
These give me both consistency and a quick adaptability to a variety of circumstances or needs... And with the almost endless possibilities of the Flex, I can evolve these easily as I grow.
