In the spirit of halloween. Some of the old haunted (presumably) places I had a scamper.
Homesick for a city far away that felt like home, tonight my contact at work was from Scotland and immigrated here 15 years ago.
That city was a death and rebirth for me. Figuratively and almost literally, for part of that anyways. When you hit a "system shutdown" and try to reboot. There's bugs to work out. It takes time. But I'm still here. Proof you can do the ugly or hard work. Face the hard truths of life.
There's times you think "how the fuck did i get here", and later on, in hindsight you can remap the way, some of those stops along the way, were where you needed to be at the time.
Ever wondered where the phrase "tie the knot" comes from? Throughout history and in many cultures (especially in cases where the couple were not wealthy enough to have rings), the hands of the bride and groom were bound together as a sign of their commitment to each other.
Jenna & Baz knew they wanted to acknowledge Baz's Irish heritage in their ceremony so a Celtic handfasting made perfect sense. Jenna spent many hours handcrafting the 'chords' and they chose their two mothers (Baz's had flown from Ireland for the ceremony) to tie the knot. 💜 Purple, symbolic of mystery and romance, so that you may always have more to discover about each other. 💙 Blue, the colour of the sky, so that you may have no limits on your happiness. 💚 Green, symbolic of growth, so that your union may be fruitful and your happiness abundant.
