*forgot to post this yesterday* workout of the day- kickboxing class, 4 mile bike warm up, agility ladder and sled push and pulls, leg press variations, box jumps, Bulgarian squats, leg curls, leg extensions, and 5 mile bike ride to finish it.
Relaxing on my porch after another #chaargbootycamp repeat workout. I have been seriously lacking on drinking water lately so I decided maybe if I get a super fancy water bottle I would drink more. And BOOM it worked. My @yeti keeps my water super cold throughout the entire workout and I now drink more than enough water. Now to enjoy my last week of vacation! #postgradCHAARG#wearchaargwednesday
Confession time: so during the #chaargbootycamp I felt amazing, I kept up with the workouts, I did my cardio, I did most of the challenges and I felt amazing, better than I have in awhile [I still had my bad days and blah days but the good days outnumbered those] but then during week 6 I was out of town for a whole week which was amazing [I explored the Oregon coast and celebrated my friends wedding] but I haven't been able to get back to where I was during the bootycamp since coming home. I have felt unmotivated and very blah most of the time. I skipped the gym more times than I'd like to admit and I just don't feel as good. I've been in a slump and im@slowly climbing out of it. The struggle was real after and 8.5 hour work day on my feet for most of it and then pushing myself to hit the gym tonight. Everyone's journey is different but we all experienced these ups and downs. I am just trying to remind myself to love myself and be positive throughout every stage. Happy #trainingtuesday !

I pushed myself *HARD* this morning. Yesterday I didn't workout [wasnt feeling it + wanted rest] so today I got up ran down the street and back (1.5mi), did a full body #chaargbootycamp workout + finished running down and back the street to total 3 full miles aka grand total of 2 hours of working out 😍 my body isn't too happy right now but it was definitely worth it #bgsuchaarg#chaargexec
I'm finally getting around to posting my #chaargbootycamp progress pictures!! At first I was nervous because I thought I "didn't make enough progress" or "I could have done better than this," but instead I need to look at this pictures + be proud of myself for working hard for six week, crushing my workouts, training for a half marathon, logging 100 bolts + having fun at the same time!!! I've always struggled with losing weight + staying consistent with my eating patterns, but this fitness journey is a lifestyle + there is no end date, so I'm going to continue working on bettering myself, getting less frustrated at a slip up + loving myself the whole time. Life is too short to be crazy obsessed over losing weight to "look better." That's also never going to be good for mental health, which is just as important [if not more] than physical health. The summertime is usually the time I focus on myself because I'm stressed less + have the time for it + this summer was no different. Like I said, I can sit here + be upset that I "didn't lose more weight" or I can sit here + keep working hard because progress is a forward motion + there's no where to go but up from here : ) #ouchaarg#chaargexec @chaarg

So I've been MIA the last two weeks because i spent a week admiring this view and helping my best friend have a magical wedding day. And this past week I've just been off trying to get back into a routine. So sad the #chaargbootycamp is over, this was my best one yet and I completed nearly all the workouts for once [minus week six because it was wedding week]. Trying to get back into the groove of things post vacay and post bootycamp! More to come soon😘

I don't think I've ever been able to relate to someone so much in regards to health + fitness + @CHAARG! We both have such a passion for this organization. I look forward to the new friends I'll make during my next two years with CHAARG. Everyone needs an accountability partner! Ashleigh taught me a lot about overcoming my running fears, motivating me to crush my workouts on days I didn't want to + she reminded me that one small setback doesn't mean I have to start over. Finally got a chance to make the 2 ingredient pancakes from the #chaargbootycamp and @simplytaylorblog they're way better than I expected!! I added chia seeds and cinnamon then topped with pb (duh) and strawberries!

Ezekiel bread is a great alternative to commercial breads. It contains sprouted grains and legumes that enhance the amount of healthy nutrients you absorb, providing more protein, fiber + minerals. In addition most Ezekiel breads do not contain added sugars 👍🏼

Finished #chaargbootycamp one week late, but I did it! Even though I got a little behind back in July, I still did my best + completed all of the workouts. I am proud for challenging myself and only counting bolts from running, which isn't my favorite thing to do. I set a goal to lose weight, but I realize now that losing fat and gaining muscle by toning up is a better goal to set because the scale is just a number that doesn't account for your body fat-to-muscle ratio. I feel so much better + am comfortable with my body. The positivity and support from this group is amazing, and I couldn't be happier to have completed this fit plan with such strong women. Hello CHAARGies!!!!!!!!!! I feel so horrible for not posting about my last days of CHAARG BOOTYCAMP, but I did finish the challenge!!!!! It was challenging for sure, but I survived my first FitPlan and I'm so excited to sign up for the fall one. The photo for today was my highlight from the six weeks, which was being an Instagram winner of the week. So proud to be apart of an organization as amazing as CHAARG. To catch you up on my life: first of all, I received my CHAARG travel mug and my Chase the Sunset tank top! The shirt fits me perfectly and I'm so excited to put green tea in my mug. Also, I've been a vegetarian for 4 years and I'm on day 2 of being a vegan!!! I absolutely love being a vegan and I can't wait to do this for the rest of my life! That's all my announcements. Saw Coldplay for the second time + got my dad to take a selfie 👍🏻😜 I surprised him a few months ago with tickets for a father's day // birthday present + it has been such an amazing night, I loved seeing him so happy! 💜 Some fitness updates: ran 8.3 miles on Sunday, bringing my total BootyCamp bolt count to 132.14 out of my goal of 100!! I was finally able to finish bootycamp today after a busy week last week!! I feel like I should post this for some perspective and clearing my mind since chaarg is all about positive thinking and healthier mindsets: WARNING PERSONAL
In all honesty I am kind of disappointed that I didn't finish the fitplan with a only a week left, but after weighing myself after 4 weeks of not doing so and seeing I gained weight (the opposite of my goal) I completely broke down. Even though it was muscle and I looked healthier, I didn't care. All i cared about is the number on the scale.
I've been overweight since middle school and the amount of times I've heard that the scale isn't important and muscle weight is good weight and there are a ton of people who don't weigh themselves from other people has never gotten to me. It's never helped. I always had the mindset that if I'm overweight, I'm overweight and it's not healthy and I want to fix it. Anytime someone has said that to me it's never actually made me feel better, I usually felt worse even though i know deep down it's true and not as big of a deal. It sucks that i didn't feel as secure and healthy as others to not worry about my weight at all since i have for years and don't see how to really fix that issue.
After quitting booty camp I started to really restrict on what I was eating and doing only cardio and while I lost more weight doing that than I did of almost 5 weeks of the fitplan I didn't really feel better. The fitplan mentally did make me feel better while doing it, even though it didn't last. this fall semester I want to try be able to have a healthier mindset and learn how to have a good relationship with my body and food while also being able to take care of it. I've always had a personal struggle between choosing one or the other and it's pretty tiring. I hope that during chaarg or the next fitplan I can stick through it! #chaargbootycamp
My two fav chick(peas) in the same pic! I can't believe #chaargbootycamp is already over! I didn't end up finishing the 100 bolts like I planned, but I did meet a different fit goal! I really hadn't been doing any arm workouts in the gym, since I've really only focused on legs in the gym and didn't know how to work arms. But I decided to fight through the discomfort and start learning some arm workouts that I can start alternating with my leg days. I'm really proud of myself since I'd always been told girls shouldn't do arms bc "they'll get bulky" blah blah. Girl you can probably lift more than those h88rs so tell em boy bye. While #chaargbootycamp may officially be over, finals week is just beginning. Since booty camp lasted all of the semester I was doing well with time managing everything I thought that I should keep it up for this week. 💪💪 Repeated #sandbarsupersweat again with rowing as my cardio (good excuse to put my rowing machine to use) and boy am I sweating! Today, I'm starting the same program I started on my very first Day 1 in January. I'm taking it back to the workouts that changed my life.
This program gave me the best results I have ever seen, self confidence and love, and truly made me feel unstoppable.
