During their childhood, Vincenzo, Rosalía, Sebastián and Miguel Agostino lived in Mendoza. In the sixties, they settled with their family in Quebec and lived there for many years. They finally returned in Argentina in 2003, to their roots to start Finca Agostino, the winery of their dreams.

Enjoying endless summer in LA poolside with #hamachi sushiroll paired with a '14 Louis Michel Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru Chablis. The strength of this vintage is evident in the delicious tension between fruit, acidity, and funky fragrant minerality/salinity. So glad I stocked up on this vintage.
We had another great tasting last night - this time the participants were a 2013 Riesling Felseneck Grosses Gewächs from Schäfer-Fröhlich, which comes from the Nahe region in Germany, and a 2013 Chardonnay Private Reserve from Beringer Vineyards, sourced from the Napa Valley. As expected, it was a bit like the fight between Mayweather and McGregor - different styles, each one with its particularities - but the Riesling proved to be clearly superior!
Saturday wine tasting- French wines 2 Reds & 4 Whites
2014 Tardieu-Laurent Coteaux Cornas - aromas of baking spices and bacon. It's a medium+ body wine with nice clean acidity and tannin. Not hugely complex.
90 pts $64 @ LCBO
2006 Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal Pauillac - this bordeaux is ready to drink. Nice vegetal, blue berries aromas. On the palate, it's a bit lean but still enough body to hold the acid and tannin. Medium+ finish.
89 pts $100 @ LCBO
2016 Domaine Grand Veneur CDP Le Miocene - It's not often that i get to drink CDP white and this one is very pleasant. Blend of 60% clariette and 40% roussanne. Very vibrant of flower, peach, ripe fruit. No oak, clean on the palate, very balanced creaminess and acid. medium+ body.
92 pts $46 @ SAQ
2015 Domain chevalier petit chablis - next, i got to try 3 different levels of chablis. First one is a petit chablis. This one is light and crisp with good sharp acidity. A easy drinking one.
88 pts $23 @ SAQ
2015 Joseph Drouhin Chablis Reserve de Vaudon - actually my favorite of the 3. Beautiful toasty earthy green apple aromas. Medium body and good acidity with some mineral lingering finish.
91 pts $30 @ SAQ
2014 Domaine Laroche Chablis 1er cru - more intense aromas on the toasty aromas. Medium+ body but also more tart and acidic. The acidy actually lasted many secs. Maybe it'll take few years to round it off the acid
88 pts $39 @ SAQ
6 lucky people got to taste the Rully white in our first class on Wednesday evening, and it seemed to be an all round favourite!
Dureuil-Janthial Rully White Burgundy 2014 (35.25/33.84/32.61)
A beautiful complex chardonnay with aromas of oak, beeswax, floral, pepper, spice. It has pronounced intensity and a very long satisfying finish. Chardonnay is the most versatile grape when it comes to matching foods. We hope Frank enjoyed what he took home!
