48 more blocks, a complete quilt top set, ready for #quiltsforharvey
Hoping to get another full set finished in the next few days to send off to @mel_is_a_swapaholic #charityquilt#quilting#quiltblocks
If anyone has random 2" strips they don't need or want, I'd be happy to incorporate them into more blocks. Just need to be at least 9" long. DM for address ❤️❤️
Aren't these just the sweetest? I saw @bluenickelstudios (I think) make some of these and just had to jump on board! These quilts will be sent back to #quiltsforkids and be gifted to a child in the hospital. As I made these, I said a thankful prayer for my healthy Jolene and know how blessed I would feel if we were ever in a situation to receive one of these precious quilts.
If you haven't yet, go to quiltsforkids.org and check it out.
My quilt guild (yes. I belong to a quilt guild. Yes I am the youngest member.) made a quilt to raffle off to benefit our local meals on wheels program who suffered massive funding cuts and who is struggling to continue operations that seniors in our community depend on. I was honored to participate and even more excited to see that my block made the quilt (we had some extras that will be made into pillow shams to go w the quilt). It's fun being new to something -- everything is exciting. #quilting#beginnerquilter#charityquilt#learnsomethingneweveryday
THIRTY FIVE QUILTS. Still waiting on a few more, but looking at this pile is inspiring. These will go to the USC Norris Cancer Center to comfort grieving families. These quilts have been a huge part of my creative time this year. A number of people have joined in on this effort, it's been wonderful, I've even made a few new friends in the process. It's hard to fathom how many hours have gone into this embodiment of love that the #LAMQG is sending to these people we don't even know. It feels good to end my 2 year season as VP of the guild with this. Massive thanks to everyone who has been a part of this effort. You all are amazing. #charityquilt#quilt#norriscancercenter#minimum10hourseach
My sweet friend Tammy @ninnytofive sent me this top a few weeks ago, and it's up next! #quiltsofcompassion happily accepts Christmas quilts (and a November deployment will be a perfect time to help someone look forward to the holidays!). I had this flannel in my stash for the back; what do you think? #quiltsofcompassion#charityquilt#islandtimequilting
Went up to Greenfield, MA yesterday to #thetextilecompany because they had all the Kona colors for the MQG charity quilt challenge. We called ahead to make sure they had them before the 1 1/2 hour trip, they were so nice 😍😍not only did they check for all the colors for us they had them pulled & waiting for us when we got there. Such a nice group of ladies working there!!! #mqg#charityquilt#makers#konacottonsolids
Early morning quilt binding. Hand sewing the binding on this #phxmqg#charityquilt while reviewing fire sprinkler plans. Taking a moment to slow down, but ending up multi-tasking. Two weeks until a big deadline at work and six weeks until project completion. Hand binding is good for the soul.
