This painting in process.. Often people ask me how I go about painting portraits of pets. First, take lots of photos if you are able to when you meet your clients in person, and if not select the best photo you can. Second, work out the composition by sketching I️t out on paper a few times before you begin and this will also help you determine the canvas size. Third, only work with sweet clients and their cutest buddies! 😇😻🐶 (I use a lot of linseed oil to keep my oil paint extra thin which then requires multiple layers of paint and lots of drying time in between.) If you have any other questions DM me and I will share whatever I can with you. This painting includes a labradoodle, a miniature poodle and a labradoodle! #supermodels#threedoodles#oodlesofdoodles#cutestclients#commission#sweetestclients#oilportraits#impressionisticrealism#charlotteartist
Detail of an on canvas brainstorm... It ended up going a different direction, but everything I paint that doesn't make the cut I'm grateful for. It all adds up to things that are fresh and new and hopefully improved!
Dreaming of spring as the snow is falling outside and beyond grateful to discover (from a sweet retailer) that several products from my Watercolor Garden collection made the cover of the 2018 @studiomoutdoor catalog! Thank you so much Studio M!

I’ve been working on so many projects lately and am enjoying what each one is teaching me. I’ll share bits of them in the future but for now here is my November Highlights for my family. It was such a great month!
What have you guys been working on this new year?
